PMD Products Camber Caster Gauge and Wheel Alignment Rack Rim Clamp Mount Tool for 11" to 25" Rims

I bought this after two failed attempts to get my Dodge 2500 aligned after control arm replacement. First Les Schwab did an okay job aligning my truck but forgot to tighten the control arm bolts. Luckily nothing was damaged too bad as a result. I then took my truck to the dealer. After trying to sell me an entire new front end (all control arms new, steering linkages in great shape) they informed me their alignment rack could not align my truck because my truck is too heavy (and I had to tell them how to set Castor and Camber on my truck because they claimed it wasn't adjustable). Surprising since this was a Dodge dealer. I think if you take a vehicle in for alignment only expect the Toe to be adjusted.I then bought this tool and was amazed how great of a job it did. The tool seems very well build and accurate. I set alignment, drove my truck for a few weeks and checked the settings again. They were consistent with the original and my truck's steering felt like new. A few things to note is that you really should have a level surface (like most pored concrete slabs) to set alignment and the setting should be taken while the vehicle is not jacked up. Also, typically improper Camber and/or Caster cause pulling or tracking problems while improper Toe typically causes tire wear and can can effect tracking if really off. Make sure that the steering wheel is centered when adjusting Toe.Given the cost of tires and the difficulty of getting a 3 way alignment done correctly I am very happy to have bought this tool. I keep learning over and over that I should do my own car repairs. Saves money, time and greatly reduces the likely hood of damage resulting from a bad repair.

After researching all diy caster camber gauges, this looked to be the best tool. The rim adapter makes checking caster and camber much simpler and quicker. I was going to just buy the gauge and make my own adapter. I am glad I bought the adapter, it is well made and goes on and off quickly and securely. I had my 1972 mustang aligned twice by mavis and the car still felt dodgy on the highway. I had checked the camber with a level before this purchase and it was off. This gauge is much more accurate then my home made camber level and makes checking caster much more accurate. I had my car aligned better and quicker then going back to alignment shop. Of course a correctly done alignment on a shop alignment rack would be more accurate, but in my case the shop I went to either has a problem with their machine or method. I also did the alignment on my 1967t-bird and it too handles and rides great now. I was hesitant to make this purchase but it turned out to be one of the best tools I have bought in a while. Of course the more level the surface you do the alignment on the better and user knowledge and willingness to learn are a must. If you have all 3 you won't be disappointed.

SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE. WORKS WELL FOR DOING A "MECHANICAL ALIGNMENT" GET NEARLY THE SAME RESULTS AS A SETUP THAT WOULD RUNS SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS OR MORE

Took Mercedes Benz ml55 to local alignment shop twice -tires wore out in less than a year, it drove bad--took 2 days to learn but been driving with alignment I done for about 8 months now - I love this Camber Caster Gauge.

Excellent choice for my needs. My 1963 Ford Falcon had been aligned by local shops 5 times but never drove correctly. I purchased this tool and aligned my Falcon myself. A 5 hour tedious task but was worth it all. Now my Falcon drives like a new car. The Camber Caster gauge was easy to use and came with instructions. I purchased this one instead of an electronic one because I believe mother nature does not lie. I would recommend this tool to anyone wanting to do spot on alignments themselves.

Good Solid tool as long as you know what you're doing with it. It will pay for itself in time. Take decent care of it and it'll save you money in return.
