Homestead TransFast Dye Powder, Brown Mahogany

This is a good product for anyone who finishes wood either for restoration or new work. I have tried other dyes with mixed results. Some water soluble dyes dissolve unevenly and others don't penetrate deeply enough, or are too strong and over- dye a piece. TransFast seems to have gotten the formulation right though, and I have been using their dyes professionally for years now. The largely airtight plastic bottle is a plus over dyes that come in a paper packet, as they keep the various colors dry and safe from ambient moisture. It is a good dye that goes a long way- buying an ounce is more than enough for several large projects and unused excess can be stored in a lidded glass jar until needed.

I love this! The simplicity of creating your own color intensity is what I've wanted. Cover with shellac for a perfect overtone.My only dread is as described...how will it stand up to UV?
