HodgmanH5 Stocking Foot Wader

Love the waders. I'm an ecologist who works primarily in rivers and streams, and these are great for field work. I often carry a small dry pack for supplies, but having pockets on these waders is helpful, especially when my study sites are accessible only on foot. I'm 6'1'', 49 inch chest, 41 inch waist, and the "XL King" fit very nicely and give me enough room for a jacket if needed. Also love the elastic shoulder straps, they're quite comfortable and really make a difference in mobility compared to inflexible straps.My only issue is with how they were shipped to me. They arrived in what was essentially a shoe box that wasn't even taped shut. Not sure if this was a manufacturer problem, Amazon problem, or something else, but I didn't appreciate them being in a box that anyone could've opened if they wanted to.

I am working on the warranty process for the 4th time with these waders. They fit great, and are heavy duty and comfortable, but after 4 to 6 uses they have developed a seeping leak in the crotch by the seam. this is the 4th time that I have had them replaced and each pair has leaked in the same place after 4 to 6 uses. for $220 I should get at least a couple years out of them. I would not recommend these waders.

So far so good, I will update after a few trips. I got medium tall, as I'm an odd size. Fit was great in the feet, and the chest was a little bigger than required, but it's an issue I suffer with in any clothing. I also got medium long to give myself a little extra wiggle room for the gents. Well all I can say is if your like me, you had better pick a side quick. The inseam goes north of my comfort level. Glad I got the talls for sure.

I am 6’9” 270 and buying waders is a nightmare if you don’t want to spend $600 on a pair of custom Simms. I bought XXL Tall in size. They definitely are a little baggy but I don’t mind it, it gives me more room to bend. The 5 layer bottoms seem robust and durable. I have owned a cheaper pair of Cabela’s waders and at just a little bit more money for these, they are far superior in fit and quality. I highly recommend for all of my fellow fishing Sasquatches out there!

Purchased in December 2017 and have enjoyed these waders quite a bit over the years. I’ve received several compliments about their looks, features and price point. In December 2021, several leaks along the seams became apparent, most in the crotch region. This led to a very soggy winter fishing trip. The attached photo shows where the seam tape has worn through allowing water to enter through the outer stitching holes. Very strange because I used them in July 2021 with no issues - almost like the seam tape has just reached the end of its life and is starting to break down. Four years may seem like a long life for budget-friendly waders, but I don’t actually get to use them that often - maybe 7 or 8 times a year. I just didn’t get enough use out of these to justify even their affordable price point.

Ordered a pair that was used but in good condition. Very comfortable waders and good fit. But soo mnay holes in these waders. And welds starting peeling. Only buy if they are brand new in the box

Durable. Good fit. Don't spend twice or three times the money for other waders. These are great waders!

Leaked the very first time I used them. Make sure you plan a fishing trip within 30 days of buying them or Amazon will leave you high and dry on your return.

I bought these waders along with the Aesis 3in1 Jacket, at the same time. These waders are worthy of a 5 Star rating. They are as good as or maybe better than the better known (and much more expensive) brand. Comfortable, very well designed and completely waterproof. They also have the option of a separate integrated cold weather lining, which I have not purchased. Overall, great value and highly recommended, can't fault it.

Bought these last year September. Used them twice last year in shallow water and had no problems. Used them for the third time a few weeks ago and was in water up to my stomach - got soaked! Turned them inside out and added water to the crotch area - leaking from and back through the seams through at least four spots where the circle patch covers the seams. Left knee seam has two holes.Very disappointed, these were not cheap and expected them to last for at least three or four years!Have had other Hodgman waders and found them to be good value.

Seems to be reasonably well-made and considering I've only used them twice and can't speak to their longevity, would give a qualified "thumbs up".

These are the worst quality waders I've ever purchased. Leaked at the seam after 2nd use. I was led to believe these could compete against top brands such as Orvis, Patagonia and Simms but after this experience I'd never purchase their product again. I also am left footing the bill for a product that I cannot send back to anyone as the return window closed shortly after I received them.Spend an extra couple hundred bucks and save yourself the headache and wet legs!

Very nice waders. High quality. Well built. And sturdy seams. I bought them a bit big for me. I am 6’ and ~150lbs. I probably could have gone down a size. I bought a large tall. But now I can fit as many layers under as I need. Perfect for all year fishing! Also, for anyone debating between this material and neoprene waders, I would suggest this style. You can easily add more warmth, but the neoprene guys can take away warmth in the hot summer! I fish 5-10 times a year and I imagine I will have these for at least a decade, if not longer! Fingers crossed the glue doesn’t degrade after that long.
