Great capture device. Just make sure you install software first.
This little guy definitely made video capturing easier. Just make sure to install the software and then make sure you have it configured to either HDMI or 3G/SDI. It canNOT do both at the same time. Other than that, it works in OBS just great and you can configure the resolution to whatever you want. Now I don't have to use USB video capture devices all attached outside of the PC. Makes the area cleaner. It's a decent vid cap device. It isn't really cheap, but definitely affordable.

Installed & Working Within Minutes
I installed this card and it was immediately recognized by my computer. Avid Media Composer capture works perfectly, as does the Media Express software.

Beautiful picture quality in windows, PITA under linux
I bought this to use a dSLR for zoom on a computer that dual boots linux and windows. On the windows side, the picture is perfect and everything works great. 10/10.On the linux side, it's a pain. It doesn't work unless you install drivers, which have to be reinstalled any time the kernel updates. The software freezes up. I got it limping along (low res) but finally gave up on it. I'll just use a regular webcam when I'm using linux. I am not well enough acquainted with the technical reasons, but I wish hardware vendors like this put their drivers into the linux kernel so stuff would just work.

Great TB3 video capture card!!
Super quality expected for highly praised video hardware company!!! Set up is tricky on newer macs ( you have to change security settings not big deal ). The video quality with my Sony A7RIII full frame camera it’s amazing. I was looking to capture video on 4K format. Since this device uses TB3 via PCIe connection now I could capture video with great quality on this highly system demand format. I recommend to use Sonnet PCIe box for as many ports you need ( I took the single card since I only needed one PCIe slot ). I tried like 4 different video capture cards ( all using USB 3.0 connection ) and O was getting poor video quality video.

Great, versatile, easy setup.
Upgraded from a $20 USB capture card, which had a few challenges. Not only is the picture a lot better its a worry free operation. Worth the money!

Great product that works well
This product was one of the few choices I had with capture cards. I chose this one because of its greater compatibility with many other software and I am very happy with what it can do!

Worked flawlessly incredible 4K
What can I say, it’s a Blackmagic product. I expected perfection and that is exactly what I got. I’m using it in a live production of my church services. It was detected by OBS instantly. As well as Adobe creative cloud too.

Great quality, great price. SDI is a must for professional AV
Plug and play, just download the Desktop Video from BMDs website. Works great in OBS on Windows, using in tandem with an ATEM over SDI.
