The Haunting of Bly Manor

Aside from 1 episode and 1 scare, this is bad. Really. Bad. the acting is good, some of the story is even good, but unfortunately extremely predictable. If you're looking for horror or anything even remotely as clever and well written as the first series: 'The Haunting of Hill House' you will be entirely disappointed.

After the first few episodes you get to know more about the characters and what is happening. I enjoyed th performances of everyone especially Oliver Jackson- cohen. There were a few points of disappointment but will not go into. Enjoy it go with it. It’s satisfying that way. When it over and you think through probably see what I do but does not spoil the viewing

I had never heard of either of these series until I came across this DVD set. I don't know how I missed them but I'm so glad that I took a chance & ordered the set! I'm someone who likes to sit alone and watch scary movies, so these were perfect. Great story, excellent acting & tons of creep factor. One scene in particular made me gasp so loud, I would have been embarrassed if I wasn't alone! If you can put aside wanting to know all of the answers ahead of time and just enjoy the show, it's a fun time. I watched Bly Manor first, although it truly wouldn't matter.

I really LOVE this show and was very excited to have it as a tangible form, but Amazon’s shipping was TERRIBLE.It came without a single buffer, so every corner of the outer case was all scraped.I have exchanged the item twice so I’ve got 3 in total (2 returned) and every time I got the new item, it came with the exactly same poor packing.I chatted with the customer support assistants each time and they assured me that I will get safely packed package, but nothing has changed.I’m really disappointed with Amazon, and I doubt I’d buy anything on this mall anytime in the future.I feel terrible giving 1 star to Bly Manor blu-ray. It’s not for the show, which is one of the best love story ever.

This is not a ghost story, but a love story

Like some of the other reviews I have seen, I am in the camp of "don't pay any attention to any review that is less than 5-stars". This is a very good series which is as good, if not better than, The Haunting of Hill House. Loved using the same music in this one.....yes, you have heard it before. Don't miss

This is long, drawn out, boring, mind numbing and substance less nothingness!

This is a well written and well acted horror mini-series that can be a bit confusing on first watch due to the fact that it isn't always chronological but instead jumps about to the different times and events of the various characters. This only makes it great for a second and third viewing though in my experience. Highly recommended, especially if you enjoyed The Haunting of Hill House by the same producers. This even stars some of the same actors albeit playing different roles as this is not connected in any way with Hill House.

The Haunting of Bly Manor Review: There are Many, Many Ghosts in this story. (I do not understand reviews that claim is not a ghost story???) I was put off buying this for ages because of these false reviews and this now annoys me!!.When I finally bought it, I was very happy, as it IS in the correct genre and it delivers...If you like 'The Others' this is for you. Both the dead and the living see things from their viewpoints. The Place is Very Haunted and the story is complex and tangled, as the events unfold between the dead and the living. The Place has a long history that is explored in the story, and this is a new take on a ghost story you would not expect. There are well thought out answers at the end ! It is a Proper story ! Sadly Rare now in this genre... No one has mentioned it is a re-imagining of 'The Turning of The Screw' which is surely very important, though it adds much more to the story. 'The Haunting' was reimagined in the first series and it is wonderful that another great ghost story has been expanded /remixed again. I imagine this is a great imaginative journey for writers and watchers alike. Both series deserve 5 stars without doubt. 'The Haunting' is the better drama, as the characters are in a harsh real world of family break up and PTSD from their haunted house renovation as children. This second one 'Bly Manor' is more of a detailed puzzle and a fairytale, so characters are not so much Drama and more ghost STORY based. Some of the darker adult content of the original 'Turning of The Screw' has been toned down a lot and just avoided, and without this it has lost its edge. A softer more Americanised younger audience product is the result. But still a great mystery ghost story results...

This is not really a ghost story more of a who done it. Terrible accents and scares are few .

The boxset arrived in perfect condition, no damage to the DVDs or to the box. It was a decent price which was good, the delivery service was on time. It's just a perfect show to watch if your into the Supernatural and want something good to relax to and watch.
