Kalamata's Kitchen Hardcover – Picture Book, July 20, 2021

Got it for a gift. Sure love this book.

This book offers absolutely everything that I want as a parent. It starts off with the Taste Bud Pledge, which is such a lovely message. The story is beautifully written and gorgeously illustrated, making it so much fun to read to my son. He feels like every page has its own adventure, and he is always looking for Al Dente. My son took the touching message to heart so much that he brought the book to camp to share with his friends at lunch. I wish there were more books like this, I’m clearly as big a Kalamata fan as my 7 year-old.

My daughters are half Indian and don’t get the opportunity to see that side of themselves in many books for children. They absolutely loved this book! Any child, no matter the ethnicity, will appreciate sweet Kalamata and her descriptive culinary adventures. This would make a great gift for a budding chef or to provide a spark of curiosity in a picky eater.

My 5 year old daughter fell in love with the main character and her stuffed pal Al Dente. The illustrations are beautiful and the story was perfect to inspire a little bravery heading into a new school year this fall. My daughter is suddenly inspired to try new things (food and other adventures) and reminds me often that Kalamata's says she has to try it! A great read-along for a five year old.

This book is beautifully written and illustrated. You can almost smell and taste everything that Kalamata and Al Dente are experiencing on their whimsical adventure. I also love that the story is inspiring my nieces and nephew to try foods that aren’t familiar to them. Cannot wait to buy more for family and friends in the future.

A charming and beautifully illustrated book with such a great message! Love the focus on being brave and embracing trying new things (even if they feel a little scary at first). All the kiddos in my life have fallen head over heels for Kalamata and Al Dente!

I Love this smart, curious, brave little girl. I love how she leads our kids into new cultures in such a natural and curious way! Can’t wait to see where she takes us next!!

My daughter (5) tore open the Amazon box when the book arrived and hasn't put it down since! A great story with great art and great lessons.
