A wonderful M/M Regency read with a fairly recognizable influence
As a Sherlock Holmes fan, I immediately enjoyed seeing the grumpy, misanthropic, overly observant Lord Christmas Gale, who solves cases, erm, puzzles. It was charming watching him learn to love and accept love in this Regency romance with a detective overlay. And I was amused by the running gag of him not knowing exactly how many sisters he has.The challenges the two men face -- Gale's anxiety, and Chant's broken heart and history of family struggles -- are relatable. They're significant, but not so much so the reader loses sight of the romance growing between them.

Muy entretenido
Me ha gustado más que el primer volumen. Esta historia se hace más amena por el misterio que la acompaña. También, el personaje principal, es muy ácido y divertido. Lo que ameniza la lectura.

Loved it!
Such a good book! I really liked all the characters! Loved Game's mother. Can't wait to read the rest in the series!

Curious.
Indeed a curious story, on the face of it a simple who-dunnit, but going deeper it's more on the angst of being gay, at a time when society was deeply divided. Indeed I found it difficult to figure out when this story was placed, apparently the same-sex marriage act is from 1783, while there is mention of one of the characters having been at Waterloo in 1815, so around 1820. Just before the introduction of the "Blackmailers Charter", which so curtailed the lives of homosexual males. Nonetheless a pleasant story, with smatterings of sex, mostly implied, an improvement on the first book of this series.

Try
It’s Christmas in July! I wanted this story from the moment I met this jaded, prickly grump and it was brilliant. Chant, who has some prickly issues of his own, is a wonderful, sunshine-y partner. “You are quite a wonder, you know.” I love these two together. Their banter, their vulnerabilities, their silliness, the way they see inside each other, it all completely charmed me, as did Gale’s family and the mystery behind it all. I’m enchanted with this series and the characters within it, including Hartwell, who has redeemed himself in my eyes. So jugs off to you, have a cup of tea and settle in to read this dashing romance.
