Diego crushes your heart in this book, thinking he is broken and unlovable. The situation Shelby, Callie and Anders find themselves in squeezes your heart further. But the love, care and compassion that Diego and Shel show Calle, Anders and Ted fills your heart with joy. They are so full of love to give and in return are deserving of love and care themselves, the stars of the book are obviously Callie, Anders and Ted....but Diego and Shel are likable too!This spinoff series is just as good as the original GHOST series, with amazing, slightly damaged operatives protecting the vulnerable in society....how can you not loose your heart to them?A fantastic first book, I look forward to many more.

This is a great story from Patti, non stop action with plenty of emotion from beginning to end.Shelby has “ kidnapped “ her niece and nephew from their father after his sister goes missing and she discovers her niece and nephew are being abused and fears for their safety. Diego is employed, as part of RAPTOR to find them for their father. However it soon becomes clear that Kurtis ( dad) is not on the up and up and Diego finds himself with the rest of his team protecting Shelby and the children.Loved Ted too. Excellent book, highly recommended.

The strong bond that Shelby has with little Anders and Calli is amazing. Shelby is the glue that keeps this family unit going and she trusts her instincts very well. Diego joins this little family and even with his PTSD he still protects them at each turn. Love the ending and extended epiligue.

A new series by PJ Fiala... RAPTOR.. Diego and Shelby are introduced to us as broken people. Diego is a man that still suffers from PTSD but with the help of his therapy dog, is now managing to lead a good life. Shelby loves her sister and her 2 children. She wants to protect them from her sister’s abusive husband and ends up kidnapping the children and going on the run. The moment Diego meets Shelby he has to work out whether she is as bad as his client insists she is or is there something else going on. Nothing is as it seems.This story develops at a fast rate, with surprises, twists, drama, action and suspense. As a introduction to this series it’s absolutely ace! Would highly recommend you take a look for yourself.I have received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 1st in a new series and is Diego and Shelby’s story. Diego is a veteran who suffers from PTSD and due to his therapy dog. he manages to lead a normal life, and he is now an operative for Raptor, where he is eager to prove that he is capable of the position. When Raptor are hired to find a kidnapper, Diego is hot of the trail, but things are not as they seem. Shelby is on the run with her niece and nephew to protect and keep them safe from her abusive brother-in-law, who she is convinced is responsible for her sister disappearance. This is a well written story which has an intricate and in-depth plot, and is intriguing, with twists, drama, action, suspense, danger, and love, which leads to an entertaining and all-consuming riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

A fantastic start to this new series. Diego and Shelby made a fantastic couple. An exciting storyline, the opportunity to catch up with old friends from the Ghost series and tantalising peeks into characters who will feature in future books. I eagerly await the next book in the series and recommend this book without reservation. This book would be an excellent standalone, however if you have not read the Ghost series I would highly recommend them as well

A great start to a promising series, one that hooked me with ease and had me powering through it. With plenty packed into the pages, I could not get enough of the unfolding story. I cannot wait for more.

This is a great start to a new series, loved reading who the new characters are and can not wait to see how they will evolve over the series, funny, action and romance, I can not ask for more.
