Great game in great condition, paid far less than $600-$700
Most of the reviews here deal with how HeroQuest is the best game ever made. I agree it's awesome, and it's nice to have this little piece of my childhood here. I remember a couple friends of mine owned this, and it was a blast to play. One thing that is definitely worth noting though - I got this in great condition for about $160, with only a single red die missing (which is an easy replacement - it's just a six-sided die). If you absolutely want a new, unopened box, then maybe the $700 price tag offered here on Amazon is justifiable. However, I don't see why anyone other than a diehard vintage games collector would ever pay that price.Keep watching for lower offers on decent condition sets. Other sources (such as boardgamegeek.com as other people have mentioned) also seem to offer this in their own marketplaces at prices between $100 to $200, again with pretty good levels of completeness and quality. This is a great game, with awesome miniatures and simple gameplay, but unless you want it as part of a vintage collection, there's really no reason to pay more than $200 for it.

Exellent Condition!
At first i thought I was missing a core piece of the game. But on closer inspection everything was there. This guy/gal really took care of thier board games! All the pieces were carefully wrapped in plastic. Even the original punchouts were included. This is a game I always wanted to play as a kid and now I get to experience it in its entirety! Thanks!

Great game in 1990...
HeroQuest was a good game in it's time and deserves credit for blazing a trail in the dungeon crawler genre. But board games have undergone a renaissance and there are plenty of MUCH more enjoyable games for a fraction of the price.HeroQuest's main selling point is also it's biggest weakness: it's basic. Easy to learn, but very little depth and bogged down by excessive dice rolling. Turns are highly repetitive and each quest is just more of the same. Don't pay a premium for an outdated child's game. This is a museum piece for serious collectors only.

Love the game but the condition was a lot worse ...
Love the game but the condition was a lot worse than I thought for the money I paid but guess that's how it goes when you buy something used!!

Love the nastalgia.
A childhood favorite of mine finally returned to me, it was a bit pricey and didn't come with any of the hero or monster figures but I still love it, in fact I have used it as a template for my own personal creation and now me and my friends in my unit are gaming with a whole new adventure series not every created before. Thank you
