Q: does this work on a 2 inch pipe opening or is it 3 inch

It is perfectly snug with my 2 inch opening. I think it might be too small for 3 inch openings but it works great for me so far and perhaps it could handle 3 inch openings and it is so cheap that it might be worth a shot if 3 inch is needed. My gut tells me though it may be too small for a 3 inch opening.

Q: Does this flapper work with a 4049 American Standard?

I am not sure what a 4049 standard is but my toilet is over 20 years old and this worked perfectly

mine didnt fit was waste money cause flapper didn't go all way down
