They are activated carbon - and they are cheap!
I was hunting for carbon pellets for my aquarium sump filter and after a long and difficult search, found this supplier.The media arrived promptly and it was 2 kg as described. They work well and my tank water is a lot clearer. There isn't much more one needs to say about them. Just make sure you rinse them thoroughly before first use because they have carbon dust that can cloud up the water.

Very bad
Very bad product. Washed it 12 times, though the blackness wasn't going. Read a same comment, who wrote something like that only, but though I went ahead and purchased it. Returned it the very next day.

Cost Efficient and A Good Product
No store is providing this product in such great rates, the quality in also good, Activated Carbon is supposed to Bubble when put in water, these did..

Nice Charcoals
Nice charcoals, keeps watet of my fish tank clear like crystal. Does not dissolve. At first the water color turned black but after an hour the water was crystal clear.A netted bag should have been provided along with the granules as it is difficult to remove all and clear top filters, lot of them went to my fish tank but amazingly fishes do not try to eat it.

Yes it is activated charcoal..Please wash 4 to 5 times & place it aside in water for 2 hours...ensure that the water runs clean before placing it in aquariumTakes 3 to 4 days to clear the water..

Works.... Activated carbon is must if you want crystal clear water... But don't use in planted tank..

awesome medium
The media could not be loaded. Excellent product i am using this carbon asm edium in my power filter and water odor and quality has drastically improved. Must buy for your aquarium as medium for filteration
