An interesting and enjoyable read
This is the third book by Higashino I've read and my definitely my favorite. As other reviewers have said, the concept is a little different to some of his other work, but I found it an enjoyable read nonetheless. I would highly recommend this book to fans of Higashino or Japanese literature.

Beautiful
I love Keigo Higashino, for many reasons, but this book brings one thing he does extremely well to the very fore - weaving a novel out of short stories. This book is a series of stories, of people facing everyday (and extraordinary) problems, he draws them together with a seemingly innocent little shop. The novel is a masterwork of twists and turns, I enjoyed every minute of it - even the ending, bittersweet and unfinished as it is, is perfect. Please read this book

Wonderful novel
This book was wonderful. I read it rather quickly and I am a typically slow reader. Thoroughly enjoyable and emotional.

Wonderful!!
I love the crime novels of Keigo Higashino but this book is a little different and really special. I read it over just two days, it was very moving.

A lovely, clever story that weaves a tapestry of events around the idea that 'no man is an island'.
I haven't read any of Keigo Higashino's work before, but I will look out for it now, it was a high 4-star read for me.Each chapter of The Miracles of the Namiya General Store is written as if it is a short story in its own right, but as the book unfolds itself, more and more connections are revealed and the impact that characters' choices have on each other builds, so that the more you read, the more you want to know: 'Where is this going?', 'What does that have to do with the last chapter?', 'Who is this person?' and what starts out as a fairly innocuous tale of someone's life and a choice they have to make, quickly becomes a part of a wider whole that all comes back to the kind owner of The Namiya General Store. It's so clever, and warm, and filled with a lovely faith in people. The Namiya General Store has a touch of magic, both literally and metaphorically. I really recommend it, it's not big on action, and it's not fast-paced, but it weaves a subtle spell and is definitely worth the read.
