I never heard of this brand before, but it was the only managed switch available to me locally without paying a lot more. As to the price I see here this morning, I encourage you to do your homework before you purchase.This has a strong enclosure (e.g. metal), a connection for earth ground, and a thorough manual available online (more than 200 pages). The web interface is intuitive and responds quickly. I'm not sure how fast this device boots, but I don't feel that I've had to wait for it. It's for a table or shelf, not rack mount. I read that wall mounting is possible, and I confirm there is hardware enclosed for this. I don't use the wireless AP management features, and I'm not evolved enough yet to need the two optical fiber ports.This unit has some port isolation capability, which is why I bought it. It's not fully general, but lets you specify one "protected" set of ports which cannot talk to each other. This is being installed in a Muggle home where all ports but the router are protected; this way devices in the household cannot attack one another in the event any are compromised.When I passed my stars out, I had to consider that the default "admin" and "password" credentials put our great nation at risk. Be SURE to change your password. To meet today's needs, every unit needs to ship with a unique factory password as many other network devices now do. I took off one star for incompetence and another star for the disastrous outcomes that will result.I would very favorably consider this brand if I ran into other products when I shop.
