It’s a good use for journaling
I love the feel of the pages and it’s comfortable to use for writing . It does not bleed through.

Beautiful journal
Love how smooth the pages are for writing. This has been my preferred journal for about 10 yrs.

Great Experience
I write with a gel ink pen and writing in this notebook as a pleasure. The paper feels great and holds the ink well. One word of caution is that the ruling is very wide, which is not normally my preference.

Line spacing is too wide for me
This notebook is beautiful, and the creamy paper is lovely to write on. I use a Lamy fountain pen with Pilot Iroshizuku ink and a medium nib. The pen glides on the paper with no feathering or ghosting. I love that the pages are numbered and there is ample sections for a robust index. However, the line spacing is too large for an avid journalist, in my opinion. I included a picture of a page from the Leuchtturm soft cover lined A5 notebook of the same size on top of the Clairefontaine page to demonstrate the difference. The Leuchtturm notebook has 31 lines per page, not even including the title/date line. The Clairefontaine notebook has a meager 23 lines per page including the title/date line. That’s 35% more writing per page for the Leuchtturm. While the wider line spacing may be nice if you have large handwriting, I find it makes the pages look too sparse. I gave 4 stars because my particular nitpick isn’t something that I think would be a universal gripe, but I personally find wide ruling looks a bit childish and does not fit with the otherwise simple elegance of this notebook.

High quality paper, well-bound notebook, for fountain pens
High quality paper functionally bound in a notebook. Perfect for writing with a fountain pen or writing instruments that use fine inks. Works wonderfully with both dry and wet inks.

Best Paper In the World....?
FINALLY! A book with numbered pages that is fountain pen friendly! The only thing close to this is the Lechteruum (spelling?) notebooks, but even they have a little bleed and don't write as smoothly as the Clairefontaine paper. Clairfontaine says that its the best paper in the world... I would say that is is among the best. I really like the Mnemosyne for my spiral notebooks, and the Premium notebooks from Staples are good paper as well. Those are not better than this, and none of those have numbered pages, so you can write all your notes, then enter them into your glossary page at the beginning so you can always go back and find them again. Bravo.

Beautiful Paper
This is a great notebook! Nice thick, smooth paper! It can take my fountain pen. The lines spacing is a bit large, but livable. I like that the pages are numbered and that it has an index, so I can use it like a Bullet Journal.
