Little thinner than a Canon brand hood, but....
It's just a bit thinner than the black Canon hood, that came with my EF 70-300mm, however, this makes the lese stand out and helps OTHER PEOPLE STAY BACK, my set-up got smacked at an air show, bumped into at a Japanese temple / tourist place. Makes me mad when folks bump into my tripod, camera, and most of all lens. If I could find a bright green or yellow hood, I'd buy it. Unfortunately, I looked and looked, cannot find one. *post a comment if you find a hood the same as this but in florescent green*
