Balance Trainer is awesome!
Bought this trainer based on the design and concept.I have never seen a trainer such as this before, all I know is old school training wheels...product is made out of aluminum and is very well designed and constructed. Assembly was straight forward, just need to to be a little mechanically inclined. Took my son out to try it and after 20 minutes he started to get the feel for balancing the bike. He feels more confident and is willing to keep at it. Overall this seems to be a great product and seems to accelerate the learning process. I feel that after a few more sessions he will be able to ride on his own. The "T" handle bar provides an easy out of the way means to control / stabilize the bike to establish an efficient and quick way of learning.

Easy to put together and use
This kit went together very easily and I had it installed on my daughters bike within 10 mins. I did have to cut out the chain guard to make the kit happy, but other than that nothing really complicated.I've taken my daughter out on this about 3 times and have found it very easy to maintain her balance while she's learning to ride, I can even run behind at at a decent pace without much of a struggle. I've managed to let go of the handle for brief occasions and she's been riding on her own for a bit and I can quickly and safely grab the handle again to regain her balance before she falls..UPDATE 6/19/2013: While I stick with my original review about the ease of installation and use, after using it for a couple of months it turned out that this handle was actually hindering my daughter from learning to balance the bike on her own. Just like the training wheels, she continued to rely on me to balance the bike for her with this handle and didn't manage to balance on her own.We ended up opting to getting her a Razor scooter to allow her to learn to balance on two wheels easily and after a week or so of playing with it, I took this handle off her bike and put her back on it and within 5 minutes she was not only balancing but riding as well. We're now moving onto turning and stopping properly..So my advice is to get the child comfortable balancing on two wheels with whatever you think is appropriate, the scooter worked for us, is cheap and a lot of neighborhood kids have them so she had some quality riding times with friends and then put the child onto the bike with you holding the seat for a moment and release when there's enough momentum for them to move and balance..

This bike balance handle is so useful. My daughter loves to ride her bike but ...
This bike balance handle is so useful. My daughter loves to ride her bike but until recently didnt have the leg strength to ride on hills or rough pavement or to peddly as long as I can walk. So with me pushing the handle she can take a break from peddling and we can still keep moving and she can get that extra boost to peddle on hills or on less smoothe terrain. Once the training wheels come off, very soon (age 4) Im sure this handle bar will be absolutely necessary. It is such a back saver too! I was bending over to push her before, and now I dont. My neices have seen us use this, and they wish they had one too. This is a good purchase. The price may put some people off, but its made well, there's foam on the handle bars, and a foam cover (for safety) if you remove the handle and leave the attatchment on the bike. Easy on and off! I will definitely be using this bar for my younger child in a year or so.

It worked!... with a little extra help
My very bright 6 year old had a healthy fear of riding his bike. We tried to teach him at age five, and realized fast it wasn't going to happen. He wasn't mentally ready for bike riding. We again tried, unsuccessfully, for a while after he turned six. After watching neighborhood friends (the same age), ride by on bikes we thought that would motivate him. If anything, it hardened his resolve to NOT learn. Basically he created a rode block in his own mind against riding his bike. After reading positive reviews we decided to give the Balance Training Handle a try. Admittedly, we didn't have a lot of luck at the beginning. Our child was unwilling to put forth the effort to learn. We changed up our approach, and this is the formula that worked for us in the end: We held off on the bike riding and purchased a two-wheeled razor scooter, which ended up being a big hit! We had a plan though... our child was learning balance but felt more in control, and therefore not as intimidated. After he learned to balance well on his scooter we gave the bike another try. The bike handle came in very handy. It not only made it easier to run behind the bike without straining to bend over, but it gave my child the confidence needed to succeed in learning to ride. After a while we were letting go of the bar, and my child was riding alone... at age 6 1/2! What I learned about children learning to ride a bike is the following: 1. A lot of it depends on the childs confidence level and developmental level. 2. Don't worry about age, it will happen when its supposed to. The bike handle won't magically cause independent bike-riding, but was the perfect tool for us when my son was 'ready' to learn. I must admit, a little bribery with toys and treats helped too :)

Such a good design!!! A+
Very easy to fit (does help if you look at the online instructional video). So easy to use, so easy on your back.Give as much or as little help to balance/push as you feel you need to. My just turned 4yo loves it. He has been riding a balance bike for a few years, so rathered this transition (as the 2yo wants the balance bike) than to training wheels.Recommend this to anyone - simple, sturdy and easy to use!
