Q: Why should I choose this over the 350 mil?

The material with thickness 350 mil will not fit for every part of a regular vehicle due to its thickness. Noico Red 150 will fit pretty much everywhere in the car. Due to its thickness it is easier to work with. It is an excellent choice for regular vehicle thermal insulation. Please note that is more inclined towards heat control rather than sound absorption.

Q: Can i use this on the hood of my 82 wagoneer ?

DEI has hood liners. I have their silver one which is working great and hasn't peeled off in the 6 months I've had it on. And it cut down on engine noise a lot. It's only like $60 on amazon last I checked. Their black version is newer.

Q: Does this work as a cold insulated? Could you use it to retain heat in a camper?

Yes, the material should help for your needs. This material is designed for thermal insulation. That means you will get you both heat and cold insulation. The car will be warmer in winter and cooler in summer. This material should be applied without any openings or gaps between sheets, in order to ensure as high heat insulation as possible.

This material can be installed to the plastic surfaces. However, it shouldn't be close to any heat source over 190 degrees F. Other thing is that it won't be able to dramatically reduce the noise due to the fact that this vehicle has been designed for different purposes than driving comfort. It might work to reduce the overall rattle but we can't give any guarantees as this material was designed and tested to be used in automotive application (for a regular vehicle)
