The Ultimate Civil FE Practice Exam

I went through this whole book problem by problem. It was very good as far as content goes. This is my second time taking this exam and the problems were very similar. The reason that I am giving the book 3 stars is because there were quite a few errors...at least 5 different problems I got different answers for (he had some math errors). Also, it would be helpful if the equations used were referred to in the solutions. I also tried contacting the author about some of these errors (his email is given in the book) a couple of weeks ago and unfortunately he never responded.

Very easy practice exam not as the real exam level, may be it was the same when they started the CBT

Multiple question and solution errors make it difficult to study. The errata doesn't include these errors.

Gives the the basics on what you need to know but there are errors, mostly minor editing but some with incorrect values used within the solutions which got annoying.

This booklet was very useful in preparation for the FE. There are some typos but if you figured them out, then you know what your doing.Overall, I recommend this book. I did use other resources to pass my FE.

It seems like the book is prepared by an rookie engineer who seems to have little work and low/no real subject experience. There are a number of mistakes in the book and it seems like author just copied and paste problems from other known publications. The author just change the problem metrics to make it own, but doing so made problem either fundamentally wrong or simple mistakes. How can you use this book and expect to pass PE exam.

It's true that the book has a few errors (5-10 errors). This practice exam should be used ONLY after you completed your review to see which area you need to study more. I bought the PDF file online and used as one of my study sources. I took this exam a week before my NCEES exam and found it useful. I passed the exam and the level of difficulty is pretty close to actual test.
