I LOVE glass files and use them all the time. I had one for forever and it worked great, never dulled, always effective. Once I lost it I was on a hunt for another and found these. Of the smaller 2 files (haven't used the big one) they both only have select areas that really file, which make them both frustrating to use. I finally found and bought a different brand of file at a local business and it works amazing, just like my initial one. These, not so much at all. Very disappointing. You CAN still use the tiny patches that work, which is why I gave it a 3-star, but overall quality and "getting what you want"...you may be disappointed.

Works exactly as you’d want it to and it was super affordable. Haven’t noticed it losing it’s sandy texture at all. Replaces those disposable files and costs about the same amount for the set. Definitely recommend!

I really love these! I didn't expect much, but they are the really doing a great job. I haven't used the larger pedicure file, but I imagine it will be just as good. Thanks.

Unbelievable value! I've been using a Czech glass nail file for about a year, after being gifted one and fell in love! And these are great! No China tags, no grit coming off. Just like the glass nail file I love. It's awesome!I got a cheap look-alike plastic look alike file in a cheap manicure set, and it was truly just plastic with a grit surface that I could scrape off with my fingernail. But these are good Czech acrylic glass. What confused me in so many reviews was that the largest file in this set gets insulted as being too large, or just for toenails in reviews. It's a pedi file, to use on rough area of your feet! I'm diabetic and am scared to use most scrapers for my feet. I was surprised to learn that the same kind of glass file that has saved my nails, can be used on feet for rough areas if it's big enough, and this is exactly that. Unlike the scrapers with what looks like a cheese grater on them, these Czech files are gentle, but effective! No possible way to cut myself or scrape till bleeding. I wouldn't recommend it for heavily calloused feet, but everything else... It gently removed my rough spots without any irritation, redness or other problems.These are even safe if you break them. Acrylic glass doesn't shatter or even have sharp edges if broken. Not like regular glass at all in that way.So I bought 2 sets--one for myself and one for my best friend. The wonderful friend who got me my first glass file didn't have one of her own. Now she has a set of 3 witha pedi file, so I feel like I've improved her lot plus more!

I bought one of these files from a guy at a flea market in Vermont over the weekend because it was pretty and I liked the idea of a nail file that will never wear out. But the, two days later and my nails were still perfectly smooth - nothing close to a snaggy edge or anything!! (This NEVER happens. I usually need to file them at least once a day.) So naturally, I had to buy a whole set so I could have a file all the places I need one: at my desk at work, in my car, etc. The set arrived last night and it is just as good as the one I got at the flea market. I will never use any other kind of nail file ever again. The edges of my nails are so perfectly smooth. I know my stupid fragile fingernails are going to be less likely to get caught on stuff now because this file has smoothed it down so well. I love this product. It's freaking amazing (as amazing as a nail file can be).My only (slight) reservation is that the flea market guy made a point of telling me that his were from the Czech Republic where they use a special secret formula to make the files and there are imposters out there whose files are actually from China and that those aren't as good for some reason. He said that the way to tell if the files are from the Czech Republic is that the sheaths for the files should have stickers on them indicating that they are from the Czech Republic. These files do not have this or any sticker on their sheaths saying where they were made. So, I don't know if that means they're imposters or what. But I still like the way they file my nails so I think it might not really matter. (If I discover that it's not as good a few weeks from now, I'll add a followup to this review.)

I do my own manicure and pedicure every week, and I am always on a quest for perfect tools. I can say, without reservation, that these are the best files I have ever used. The set comes with 3 files, a large pedicure file, a medium manicure file, and a small purse file. All files come in individual storage pouches. The files are made from tempered glass. The abrasive surface is etched into the file itself, not bonded to the surface, as is the case with many other glass files. This means that the files will last much longer and not get "bald" patches. The cutting/ filing surface is hard to describe, because it sounds like a contradiction of terms. The best way I can describe it is "smooth cutting." These files are not very coarse, yet they are more effective in shaping and smoothing the nail than my older files with coarser grit. During filing they feel much smoother than conventional files, even my extra gentle fine mineral files, yet they work much faster. The pedicure file has the coarsest grit, the manucure grit is finer, and the purse file is the finest. Each side of the files feels like it has the same grit. Previous reviewers noted that there is some grit variation from the handle to the tip of each file, but I haven't noticed that. If it exists, the difference is negligible. One of the major reasons I love these files so much is that hey are sanitizable and washable. I wash my files after every use and they look and work like new. Plus, I love the purple to pink color gradient on the handles. There is only one con, but it comes with the territory—I have to be careful with the files, because they are glass. I did drop them several times already and they were fine, but a tile floor would probably kill them.
