CHVRCHES have today announced their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Screen Violence, due out August 27th on EMI Records (UK) & Glassnote Records (US). The band has also shared today the second single from the forthcoming record, titled ‘How Not To Drown’, featuring one of the trio’s ultimate heroes, Robert Smith. The Cure frontman’s signature voice melds perfectly with Mayberry’s, both supported by the dark, piano driven song that is based on the concept of staying conscious when you drown.

The media could not be loaded.  I wasn’t a ChVrches fan until I heard this album… and now it’s one of my favourite albums of all time.Incredible stuff!

A grower!
After a couple of months with the album, I can say for sure that my first impressions do not reflect what I think of it now.Somewhat heavier than their previous offerings, it's a bit of a shock compared to the often jangly pop of the previous album. However, it's a grower. It is up there on par with Every Open Eye for me now and one of my go to albums

Excellent, fresh and engaging.
I was advised to give these guys a listen a week back and since then I’ve listed to all the albums and bought this and their first one.I’ve seen comments that this album is a little more commercial but I just think it’s more polished and better written. Don’t get me wrong, I like the first album and plan on buying the middle two but of them all, this one stuck with me the most. Really love it.Pressing was good, no noise between tracks, well mastered.Only annoying thing is that there was no side 1 or 2 written on the vinyl (red is side 1!)Just put this on your turntable and turn the volume up.

It's CHVRCHES!
Unequivocally five stars, this is typical CHVRCHES. The rhythm, melodies and vocals let you know exaclty who you're listening to without looking at the album cover; although this release has a slighlty harder edge to it than previous ones and with a little more acoustic instrumentation thrown in.The CD goes on and, before you know it, you've listened all the way through and had a completely spiffing time doing so.Any one of these tracks would stand easily on its own merits as a single and there are (quite a few) moments in here where one could imagine themselves in a packed stadium, punching the air.Excellently done folks, another corker.

What a beautiful album
I'd heard of this band before, from Death Stranding, but never really caught on. Then I heard Violent Delights in a cinema lobby, couldn't even Shazam the title of the song due to lack of connection, so Googled the lyrics when I got home. Listened to the song again on repeat the rest of the evening, bought the album and listened through.. just wow. Beautifully written, deep and emotive, bassy, and so well crafted. I absolutely love this band, and I'm still so new to them. This all happened over the last few days!
