Warning: this may be slightly TMI/personal but as you’re reading this I’m hoping that this might be helpful information to some.Having first gone off of reviews on my first menstrual cup (and hoping I didn’t have to turn into Goldilocks on my quest for the ideal cup - as it’s not the sort of thing you can re-sell I was slightly concerned how many cups I’d have to try) I realised very quickly that our needs are all different. I first opted for the Saalt soft thinking that was a safe option, it was quite a first experience that resulted in what could only be described as a blood bath…literally pun intended(!) it was too soft and small for my needs - but this isn’t a review on the Saalt it did lead me to the Lily Cup…I decided on the Lily Cup mainly because of my heavier flow and higher cervix. Decided to try for the size B even though I haven’t had children (I normally do as I’m told but decided to go with my gut in this one). I must say the experience I’ve had is a 180 from the Saalt. The more firmer material makes it much easier to insert, grab and remove. As it’s designed for those with a higher cervix it is longer/bigger than the Saalt but considering we’re designed to give birth it wasn’t a big deal for me. You can keep the cup in for up to 12 hours but you know your body and flow best. I think it’s brilliant and wished we were better educated back in the day as it would have saved a lot of embarrassment and leakages!The biggest tip I have is to relax and if it’s your first time, to not do it when you’re in a rush or out in public. Persevere, and take the time to find the right cup for you. Once you do it’s life changing!

I thought I give it a go as I have a high cervix (can't touch it).... problem is this cup is super soft and I have not managed yet to get it fully open: I tried all the folds I read on internet, watched youtube videos.... but none of those advice worked for me. Gave up on it: too bad because the design is cool and the silicone very smooth.At the end I got a Lena: much much better as it opens 100% of the time and no leak.

Ich bin aufgrund des Ökotest Ergebnisses von meiner Diva Cup abgekommen. Da mir die Form (lang und schmal) und das Fassungsvermögen dieses Cups aber sehr zugesagt hatten, war ich auf der Suche nach einer ähnlichen Tasse, die ich auch bei starker Blutung den ganzen Arbeitstag lang tragen konnte. Nach langem Vergleich im Internet entschied ich mich für die Lily Cup.Größe: Die B-Größe soll für Frauen gedacht sein, die bereits ein Kind vaginal entbunden haben. Da sie aber vom Durchmesser und von der Fassungsmenge her, der kleineren Größe der Diva Cup (die für Frauen, die noch nicht entbunden haben gedacht ist) gleichkommt, sollte man sich bei der Kaufentscheidung nicht nur von dieser Aussage leiten lassen.Verpackung & Material: Hier gibt es nichts zu bemängeln. Die Lily Cup wird in einem Umkarton mit Hygienesiegel geliefert, eine Aufbewahrungstasche aus weichem, hochwertig anmutendem Material gibt es dazu. Die Cup ist aus relativ weichem, matten Silikon gemacht, geruchsneutral und farblich wie auf der Abbildung zu sehen.Anwendung: Als erfahrene Cup-Benutzerin muss ich tatsächlich anmerken, dass die Lily Cup etwas schwer zu entfernen ist. Anders als die meisten cups hat sie nämlich keine Löcher unterm Rand. Das hat den Vorteil, dass absolut nichts ausläuft (zumindest war das bei mir den ganzen Tag lang der Fall), man spürt sie auch nicht und sie drückt nicht, wie härtere Cups von innen gegen die Blase. Auch lässt sie sich dank des Innenrands mit vergleichbar geringer Sauerrei leeren. Allerdings ploppt sie auch nicht so leicht auf, wie andere Cups, man muss mit dem Finger etwas nachhelfen. Auch ist sie mit Stiel bestimmt eine der längsten Cups auf dem Markt (habe den Stiel deshalb gekürzt). Beim Entfernen kam ich dann doch etwas ins Schwitzen. War es bei starker Blutung noch recht leicht die Cup zu entfernen (ein bisschen zusammendrücken und schon kam sie frei), fühlte sie sich an leichten Tagen doch ein Bisschen so an, wie festgesaugt. Ich musste sie schon ziemlich fest zusammendrücken und geduldig sein, bis ich den Unterdruck gelöst hatte, obwohl ich schon ein paar Jahre Erfahrung mit den Cups habe.Fazit: Für Anfängerinnen gibt es sicherlich einfachere Modelle. Wer allerdings Erfahrung mitbringt und eine Cup möchte die definitiv dicht hält und relativ leicht zu leeren ist, ist mit der Lily Cup gut aufgehoben. Außerdem gehört sie meiner Einschätzung nach zu den weicheren Modellen, was man als Sensibelchen sicherlich zu schätzen weiß.

I'm a convert. Totally in love. Never had a cup before, always used tampons. Post babies I decided to save money as well as planet and this rimmed one seemed fairly good starting cup.I never used any other cup so can't compare, but for me it's not harder than putting in a tampon. Actually on the odd occasion it needs readjustment it's easier as it doesn't dry anything out. And when in, I easily forget about it. The learning curve was pretty much nonexistent for me.Needs emptying one or twice per 24hrs on my heavier days, which is super easy. I actually find it even easier than tampon. Though of course the blood is very much out there during that cleanup process, so beware if you mind that.Used for two periods so far and had only one leak which was totally my fault. (I totally forgot I have it in causing it to overfill 😅)I guess I was kinda lucky with the fit as I can imagine depending on your own shape it could be slightly too long for some, but for me it's perfect. Also even though I cant compare in experience, I totally think the asymmetric design and capped rim totally works for me.With this, I doubt I will ever buy a single-use sanitary product ever again. Unless it's another cup to have a spare or try.(Previous tampon user, two vaginal births.)

On first impressions this cup seemed great felt nice and smooth, took a bit of practice inserting buteasy to remove.Once in place, stuck to my insides like glue which created cramps 😖 I've usually got quite a high pain threshold havin fibromyalgia and sciatica flare ups but these were the worst cramps I'd ever had. Thought maybe I've just gotta get used to it as my moon cup was slightly different, so persevered had no relief from the pain til the cycle was over and cup was out!Waited til the next cycle to start popped the cup in and the pain was 10× worse- actually felt like I was in established labour! By the third day the cramps have usually subsided but noo the pain was exactly the same as day 1, could not hack it anymore so ripped the cup out and binned it, needless to say used pads for the remainder of the cycle.Have since bought the tulip cup and have had no problems. Do not use if you're not good with pain!
