the pressure will stop between 70-100 mine stops around 80 they do make them to a lower pressure.

Q: Can you wire this to the power switch on a portable 12v air compressor so that it will kick off automatically between tires, or does it need a relay?

Previous answer is not correct. You can wire this in series with the on/off switch of the compressor and it will work. That is exactly the purpose of the switch. The on/off switch is connected to a control board which is low power. The relay for the compressor motor (which is the high power draw) is built into the controller.
