Well written and delightful animated story of the polar express and who better than yom Hanks to voice nearly the entire cast of characters

My Dad loved trains and Christmas so this is a Christmas tradition for us. I just wish they’d redo it with a different style of animation cause the cold dead eyes of the characters in this film are almost nightmare fuel.

Purchased to watch with my now 8 year old and family on Christmas Eve. This brought back great memories, thank God for this writer. I will always play this in my home every Christmas as a tradition 🤍

Why am I writing a review for a classic Christmas movie that no one will read reviews of before watching you may ask? Well, Amazon told me if I wrote two more reviews they would tell me a joke and now my interest is piqued beyond reason. This was my first time watching this movie and as an elementary school librarian who loves Van Allsburg's art (that's the guy who wrote the book they made this movie about) I loved how well they translated it into this movie. There, I said an objective opinion. One more to go and then I get my joke! ;)

This 4k edition of the polar express looks amazing. It is a vast improvement over the original blu-ray release.Even the regular blu-ray included in this set got a new transfer that looks so much better than the original Blu-ray release. The features are the same though. I kept my original bluray disc from the first release before giving the movie to a friend. I only plan to watch the regular blu-ray for the extras, so I wanted my friend to have the better picture.Even if you don't have 4k, it's better to get this release just for it's regular blu-ray disc having a much better transfer.

This is my favorite christmas movie ever!

Ein Pseudoanimationsfilm, bei dem echte SchauspielerInnen ins Grimassenhafte verpixelt wurden und aussehen wie die Formwandler aus "Deep Space Nine". Als wäre das nicht gruselig genug, durchleben Kinder, die nicht mehr an den Weihnachtsmann glauben, eine Horrorfahrt mit dem Polarexpress, um endlich zum "Glauben" bekehrt zu werden. Zur Belohnung winkt die Erfüllung aller materialistischer Wünsche. Dazwischen gibt es viel an Geschwindigkeitsrausch mit Gekreische und grauenhaften Figuren, die vor allem für kleiner Kindere echt zum Fürchten sind. Da gibt es nichts Liebenswürdiges, kein fröhliches Lachen, sondern lediglich deviante Ich-glaub-nicht-mehr-an-den-Weihnachtsmann-Kinder, die sich von einer lebensbedrohlichen Sequenz zur anderen ängstigen. Der Weihnachtswelt ist dann ein totalitärer Massenaufmarsch mit Führerkultinszenierung: Krass! Der Weihnachtsmann ist die allein selig machende Superexistenz, umgeben von Wichteln, die in Stasi-Manier überprüfen, ob die Kinderchen auch wirklich alle brav gewesen sind, um mit Paketen belohnt zu werden. Bedenklich die vielen 5-Stern-Bewertungen! Wer also glaubt, wird belohnt und wer kritische Fragen stellt, den schickt der Polarexpress auf eine Horrorfahrt, wo man ihm/ihr den Glauben schon wieder beibringen wird... Das sind totalitäre Fantasien, aber konsequenterweise massentauglich, wie man an den begeisterten Reaktionen hier sieht. Das ist noch gruseliger als der Film!

Dieser Film ist in unserer Familie eine absolute Tradition geworden. Damals war er noch recht neu und wurde auch von allen als Kinderfilm eingestuft. Aber als wir die Qualität und Liebe, die in diesem Film steckt, erkannt haben, war er zu Weihnachten nicht mehr aus der Videothek wegzudenken. Umso größer war die Sorge, als er eines Weihnachten nicht mehr da war, wo er sein könnte. Wir haben das komplette Haus durchforstet, aber ihn nicht mehr wieder gefunden. The Polar Express is basically a christmas film for children of all ages including myself and im 73.Its a really enjoyable 2 hours of fantasy which is just as enjoyable at any time of the year,and is about children who have lost their believe in santa clause,and go to the north pole on the polar express to meet him.If you have the necessary equipment i recommend you purchase the excellent 3D version,it really puts you in the picture and gives you so much more enjoyment.Great blu ray picture and sound.

I was really excited about the new version - I already have The Polar Express on DVD but after seeing it at the Imax in 3D, I was looking forward to a little bit of that magic in my home.I know that home 3D with those cheap coloured glasses won't ever rival the Imax's, but home 3D can work very well (Journey to the Center of the Earth has great 3D effects).However, as stated elsewhere, the 3D here goes from 'slight' to headache-inducing blurred double-images - my other half could only stand 5 minutes before she had a migraine.I really do think they've mis-authored the disc, but then that begs the question - "why did they release it in this state?"It's saving grace is that it includes the 2D blu-ray version, which has very good picture and sound quality.Buy it for that reason alone.

Bought this to entertain my great grandchildren but found that I enjoyed it myself, well were all big kids at heart, arnt we. Its about the boy who didnt believe in Santa untill through many adventures on the polar express he finally meets Santa. This is a two disc blue ray. on the first disc you get the real 3D version and a 2D version. A little puzzling that on the 2nd disc you get another 2D version? The blue ray is pretty good and the 3D looked good with good depth and a few pop outs the best being the front engine of the train after collecting the second boy. This is a real Christmassy film and a good 3D plus 2D no digital copy which I never use, Blue Ray True (Need 3DTV 3D player and glasses to view the 3D) 3D disc And a few extras. Excellent buy.
