Come Back to Me: A Novel (Viking & Saxon Book 3)

An Independent Saxon Woman and a Powerful Norse Warrior wrap up the Viking trilogy
This is book 3 in Litton’s Viking trilogy—a saga of two Viking lords and one Saxon lord who must make marriages to bring peace between the Norse and King Alfred of Essex. In each case, the bride they get comes with a special gift, a gift of feeling, of calling and truth telling. This latter aspect, to me, gave the stories a more whimsical feel that is not characteristic of your classic Viking saga, but it seemed to work. The first one, DREAM OF ME, was my favorite, a well written Viking story with historical accuracy in the details, the life of the Norse well described and an endearing romance between two strong willed people. After the “perfect” couple of Wolf and Cymbra, it had to be difficult to find another pair that could hold the readers’ interest as well. So, I think readers may have felt a bit of a let down with the second story, BELIEVE IN ME, the story of the Saxon Hawk and Krysta. Hawk was a very capable leader but without the stormy side that Wolf had which made him such a compelling Norseman. Finally in this third one we have Wolf’s younger brother, Dragon and the Saxon maiden Rycca. Dressed in her brother’s clothes, her hair tucked into a cap, Rycca flees an arranged marriage she does not want. In her effort to run away, she runs right into Dragon, who insists he tend her bump on the head that she got when she ran off a cliff. Neither will tell the other who they are. Little does she know he’s the man she was promised to wed. Supposedly, Rycca has the gift of discerning truth from lies, yet when Dragon lies to her about the names of his horses, she does not recognize it. But the gift comes in handy after they marry and there’s a big theft at Dragon’s keep in the Northland. The story starts out a bit slowly, but picks up speed as they sail to the Norse country. Dragon, who was a lover of all women, finds himself content with his feisty new bride and Rycca, who didn’t want to give up her freedom, finds she has a fulfilled life being the jarl’s wife. It’s a wrap up to the trilogy and both of the first two couples make strong appearances, and there are threads from the first two books tied up in this one, so I do not recommend reading tit as a standalone.DREAM OF ME (Wolf and Cymbra)BELIEVE IN ME (Cymbra’s brother, Hawk and Krysta)COME BACK TO ME (Wolf’s brother, Dragon and Rycca)

Wolf, Hawk and now Dragon! I love them.
This is the third book in this series (and I think it is probably the last book in the series). The first two followed Wolf (a Viking lord) and Hawk (a Saxon lord) as they meet, marry and woe their brides (in that order). This book follows Wolf's brother, Dragon (another Viking lord) and his bride Rycca (a Saxon lady). These marriages were designed to bring peace between the Norse and Saxon's.Like the other two marriages, it doesn't start off well. Rycca is running away from her family and the marriage. Dragon is having some alone time at Hawk lodge in the woods outside Hawkforte. They meet up but neither with tell the other their real names. Dragon wants to help Rycca, but Rycca still manages to get away again. The marriage starts off with a lot of distrust between these two people. And like the other books there is still danger. There are people who don't want the Norse and Saxon's to unite and they are working in underhanded ways to prevent this. So the book follows these goings on and we watch Dragon and Rycca work through their difficulties. We do get to see Wolf and Cymbra and Hawk and Krysta again a couple times in the book and it is nice to see the friendship between the ladies.I loved this series. I had never read anything by this author before, but I plan to read the rest of her books as well now. I loved all the characters. I don't know which is my favorite couple. Even the bad guys are written well. You know who not to trust, but you can't quite figure out all the details.

Great story.

Wonderful Conclusion to the Trilogy
Ooh, Viking romance at its best. I loved these characters. Dragon is a mouth-watering hero, nothing but kind and patient, powerful, gorgeous, controlled rather than controlling. The stuff of fantasies. Rycca is “a prickly little thing,” the product of her childhood and inner strength. Yes, she makes some mistakes, but I found them believable in the context of her past and personality. None of the misunderstandings were drawn out too long, and there was plenty of plot and intrigue to go with the romance. Great conclusion to the series. The longer story arc was tied up and wrapped in a poetic bow, complete with visits from the characters of the two previous books. This trilogy is best enjoyed when read in order. Will be looking for more Josie Litton.

Awesome
Just as great as I remember. I searched to find these for years after my first read but couldn't remember anything but the character names wolf dragon and hawk. Glad this book was as good as I remembered.

An enjoyable and satisfying read.
Having ordered all three in this trilogy and having had this one arrive first I have started with the end of the trilogy. It matters not as I imagine all three will stand alone perfectly well. I look forward to reading the previous two having been introduced to the previous characters through this. I enjoyed Come Back to Me very much! Dragon is a lovely warm hero and perfectly balances the (understandably) 'prickly' nature of Rycca. Ms Litton writes a well rounded and satisfying tale filled with intrigue, danger, and perhaps most importantly, steeped in romance. Very enjoyable and I look forward to receiving and reading the preceding two novels soon.
