No good for Shure SM7B: Too weak, and the hinge gets in the way.
I bought this for my Shure SM7B Microphone, and returned it immediately.First off, despite the product's claim of supporting up to 1 kg (~2.2 lb), it sagged under the weight of my microphone (For reference, the SM7B is hefty at 1.6 lb, but well within the weight limit). This was with the tension arm as tight as I could get it.Second, the hinge near the mic end is too large and blocks the use of a standard XLR cable with my mic. I mean, you can get the plug in, but there's considerable sideways stress on the connector, and you can't rotate the mic anymore. Other boom arms can also have this problem with the SM7B (The RODE PSA1 arm, for example) and an extension tube could fix it, but that would be an extra $8 part that could be avoided if the joint was smaller.

This mic stand does not allow you to move it out of the way more than a few times before breaking.
This mic stand works for about 2-3 weeks before you notice the poor quality and workmanship. I purchased in June and it broke early August. Used 3-4 times per week at night for 2-3 hours. You have to tighten the screws in order for the mic stand to not fall down. Once you do that, if you move the mic stand out of the way, it will break after a short period of time. The cable broke so the stand would no longer hold the mic up.Pros: NoneCons:1. The clips that hold the cable didn't work out of the box. They did not snap right way. Had to use tape to hold them down.2. The weight capacity is not much. Using a Hyper X USB mic the weights almost nothing. Unless you crank down the screws, the stand will not hold the weight3. After moving into position and moving it out of the way, the cable will break.4. Clearly not intended for movement after the mic is in position without loosing the screws and resetting them every time you make a slight adjustment to position.I would not recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality built mic stand. I spent the same money and purchased a Rode with NO ISSUES. Rode is made for pod casters/streamers who want to move the mic without having to reset the screw tension every 2 seconds.Do NOT BUY this poor quality, cheaply made piece of plastic.
