Nylon is stronger than polyester at first, after a couple of years begins to break down when exposed to sunlight and will Deteriorate after just a few years, Polyester on the other hand will gain strength and surpass nylons strength many years and surprises most people, Nylon for boats is perfect because of the softness of stretching ability, Polyester for outside projects is by far the Ultimate weapon for harsh hot or cold weather forever projects, so I recommend you try it out, one more thing my wife just reminded me that our close line has been up for about twelve years now and still perfect....thanks

Just received my 1/4 ×250 ft rope. Havent used it yet but first impressions are. Good decent quality reel, rope looks good ( but didn't unspool the whole roll ) a little smaller in diameter than I thought it would be We'll see how it works out when I start using it.

It is 1/4 inch rope. The add says it is both polyester and nylon.... Which is it?
