Plastic, not brass
Part is described as Durable Brass Construction, but it is just plastic. Plastic for $5.47ea. I would not have replaced my existing escutcheons, which were fine, except that these were incorrectly advertised as brass.

My understanding from a lot of researching on the net, is that this is the original product that was installed in both bathrooms, 1980's, time makes the item worn and dingy so purchasing new ones game we an extension on usage. They are plastic with chrome finish

The only reason I bought this is that the description said it was brass. I did not want another plastic one.

Cheap Plastic
This $7.76 American Standard Escutcheon is STILL being advertised as being made from brass with a chrome coating. It is made from a weak plastic. The reviews with people complaining about this keep disappearing. Heed the warning as long as it's allowed to stay here.
