"I am a phenomenal black boy" is a wonderful book. It draws upon Black history, Black arts, Black culture and sciences to inspire and uplift our young Black children. It gives a representation and a voice to young Black boys in a kidlit landscape where they are too often absent, underrepresented or misrepresented. In "I am a phenomenal black boy", the words are affirming and nurturing. The illustrations are powerful and engaging. What a timely present to our young Black kids! A beautiful reminder of their own greatness... Kudos to this book's author Francesca Andre and to illustrator Audeva Joseph. Young readers who will find themselves with this book in their hands will get inspired to become phenomenal indeed!

This book is written for young Black boys. It's a beautifully written & inspirational book to be remembered by the children who read it. This book can be read over and over again. The lessons are simple enough to be remembered by kids. This book is so positive in teaching young Black boys that they can achieve anything & to believe in themselves. There are examples of role models & it's beautifully illustrated. Francesca is truly inspirational & her vision is beautifully written in "I am a Phenomenal Black Boy".

As a mother and a black woman this book brought so much smiles to my life. When I purchased it, I had no clue it was going to do such wonderful work in my home. I have two black girls and one black son who are phenomenal. This book reminded them of that!All three of my babies said they love the experiment they had with this book the first day they read it. The girls love love it and shared with me what they learned that was new to them and how happy they are that they now in the know.My son finds inspiration and motivation that boost his determination towards his own goals after reading this book. And to me that’s everything! I truly think the author’s job with this book is completed because it touches lives and changes perspective of our children including me the parent. Kids aren't the only one learning and relearning from this knowledge...experience. So I say YES!Yes, It’s worth both your time and your money because both boys and girls will learn and relive history through this author’s work. Phenomenally written!

I am a Phenomenal Black Boy is an inspiring book for young Black boys. The lessons are simple enough to be remembered by kids. This book will teach young Black boys that they can achieve anything they want if they can believe it and put the work into it, as did the great role models featured in the book.

“I am a phenomenal black boy” is in my opinion a masterpiece. In a world where our blacks boys are being treated like animals, they need to know where they come from so they can know their worth. This book does just that. It is teaching them that they are Kings, that they come from a great lineage of royal people, and that they have so much to be proud of. Our babies needed that voice telling them to keep their light shining when everyone else is trying to dim it. It is educational and fun at the same time. The illustrations and the story are well aligned. The pictures come to life and it’s such an easy read. Kuddos!I would recommend this book to any parent who is trying to instill gratitude and pride to their black baby boys.
