Amazing
This is a great book. When I first read the storyline I thought it was going to be cheesy but it did not disappoint. It was funny, well written and gripping. The only criticism is with Odette and why it took the whole book to eventually marry, especially after hearing Gale’s reasons for marrying ie his dad. That being said still a great read and can’t wait for book 2

Absolutely Brilliant!
I am not one who usually enjoys any sort of royalty books, however, this enraptured my heart and made me binge it in hours, downloading the next in the series immediately. Loved it!

Great read
This is a well written story that I thoroughly enjoyed.Odette and Gale are very likeable. They both need to get married for different reasons. I really enjoyed the banter between them both.If you enjoy modern day royal romances then I’m sure you’ll enjoy this one. Can’t wait to read book two :)

Love this book!
I was lucky enough to win an arc of this book by JJ in a Facebook group. This is such a heartfelt romance. I absolutely loved the characters in this book that JJ has created and I loved seeing this side of her writing style. I've only read her mafia romance and she really managed to pull it out the bag with the witty humour and friends-to-lovers romance.I would have never thought it possible to say a read was hot and steamy without some form of sex or touchy-feely, but bloody hell did JJ manage this and more! I was swooning for Gale at every possible moment and the romantic gestures literally had me hooked to the pages. Odette, had me from the beginning. She is such a boss bitch and when she walked into that meeting with the tech nerds and Yvonne in that white, crisp, suit, I was all for it and cheering her on all the way. It was so nice to see her personality towards Gale change over the course of the book and the relationship that flourished was to die for and I literally will die if I do not get my hands on book 2 soon enough. What the hell was that ending JJ?!?!?!Like what? I need to know! Is it November yet?

Good read - but too much of a slow burner FOR ME
First off, I’ve seen the name J.J. McAvoy thrown around in BWWM romance circles but for whatever reason, have never got around to reading anything by the author. And now that I finally have, I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on such a good author. I can’t wait to go through her catalogue to see what else I can sink my teeth into because this has been a very pleasant surprise.Having said that, I felt this book just dragged and dragged on with Gale and Odette messing about, but mainly Odette. I really liked Gale straight away and feel he’s a solid guy. I mean, I was captured by that gorgeous face on the cover. And then when I did find out there was to be a sequel, I was so made up to see Odette is equally as stunning. So imagine my disappointment when there wasn’t much action between the two in the first book! I mean, they did fool around a bit, but I felt the author did too much telling than showing me , inviting me , the reader into Gale and Odette’s journey - for me, that’s what lets me know how electric the chemistry between our two lovebirds is. I know Gale fell in love with Odette almost straight away, while it took a while for her. But even when it was clear they had the hots for each other, there was just… NOTHING!I have to say I found Odette very annoying in the beginning - she came over as a spoilt little, rude brat, to be honest. However, she did redeem herself because she became more ‘human, more vulnerable, not so defensive all the time’, and I started to warm to her. So I can’t wait to see how the two of them develop and evolve as individuals as well as the royal power couple. I don’t like this trope much (arranged marriage)because I feel it’s dated - but the author did well in executing it. Overall, not a bad read.NB: I’m not big on sequels and it was with a sinking heart that I noticed there was another book. Just when I thought I was warming up to that idea, I discovered there’s yet another! I’ll reserve my comment on the third book until I’ve read the second and (hopefully) final book.
