I love this product so much I really really hated washing filter socks with bleach, it always scared me and it would never clean it very well, I love the idea of disposable filter socks, it seems to polish my water pretty well and catches and decent amount of nasty stuff, I only have one complaint and hopefully the people who make this see this I wish they sold 100 micron versions of their disposable socks**UPDATE** I just want to mention that these get clogged really really fast and if you are not changing them out every three days like you should be then they will overflow, I even have had some overflow on the third day

I’ve been using sock filters for ever. I go between cleaning and throwing away without cleaning because it’s such a pain. I have spent hundreds (maybe thousands) of socks over the years. Lately I’ve been using the mesh filters instead of the felt because I was just so tired of cleaning. The reef diapers are awesome. Basically a custom coffee filter for my reef. My tank creates a ton of dirt (it’s huge and I over feed). Felt filters are good for 2-3 days … these are good for 3-4 days. Then I can just chuck and put a new one in. No cleaning. They also balloon up when they are filling up with detritus (similar to a full baby diaper. ;). ). The only thing that could make these better is if they were cheaper (because let’s face it… it’s just a custom coffee filter).

These work great, I just wanted to give everyone a heads up they are shorter than your standard filter sock. When they blow up like a balloon, that's when you change them out.. So if your load on your stand is high, you might have to change them out like every 3-4 days. The first time I added them in the sump, I change them out on the 3rd day. 2nd time on the 5 day. Also you don't have to worry about skimmer going out of wack, like when you add new filter socks. I will update if anything else changes.

I ordered these after I heard from a friend about them, once I received them I was eager to put them on the tank to see the results for myself. at first thought they fit my sump perfectly which is a icecap 30 sump. after a day I noticed the tank was noticeable clearer then usual and the reef diapers weren't clogged yet and not letting any water thats not filtered pass. day 2 the reef diapers started to expand allowing new surface area to be able to filter which is nice. day 3 I decided to swap the reef diapers out as they were expanded and seemed to be ready to change. out of the test i noticed they lasted slightly longer then typical filter socks, usually I get 1-2 days out of a normal one so this one was slightly longer. overall I'm happy with these reef diapers and I would recommend them to anyone who doesn't want to clean filter socks anymore.

I hate using socks taking them out every other day then washing them having to run bleach to kill germs in my washer before washing socks. Then flipping them inside out with nasty reef waste everywhere. Having to make rodi water to pre wash then wash and then dry then rinse with rodi water before returning them to the sump!? Are you tired just thinking about the process of washing filter socks…? Me too. So I found these and reviews are various. Do not open the socks up. If you do that they won’t fit they will be stretched out and you’ll hate them. Watch the user video before you think you know how to use these!! They are amazing work so we’ll and save so much of your time. Remove them every two to three days and throw them away. It’s the best product I stumbled on. I wish they sold them at my lfs! I promise you won’t be let down by these!!

Does clean and leaves my aquarium clean. Be aware that they do pick up a lot of crap and doesn't filter through the sock which good but depending on how dirty your tank is might go through a few of these. I waited 3 days pulled it out and gave it a rinse and to my surprise stuff just rolled off so it extends the time between changes. I would otherwise have to change every 6 to 8 days. If you hate washing filter socks then these are nice. However, they last me 48 hours max and some only last about 36 hours. If you order a 60 pack they are ~$1 each after tax. That can add up over time versus washing or power spraying cloth socks. Not sure if I’m going to keep going down this road or not. I have an unopened 60 pack that I will most likely send back.

So far, my first impressions are hopeful. It is way thinner then the 300micron socks I am used to. I can see through the bottom. But those cost me $13 each from my LFS so I am will to experiment with these. I am hoping to get a week out of each one even though they recommend twice a week changes. They are the perfect size for my 10gal sump and very easy to change out.
