TEKTRO Caliper Brake for Beach Cruiser - 26" Wheel Rear 79-99 mm Reach OE Packaging

I replaced the "standard" side-pull brake on the rear of my wife's cruiser. Wow, the stopping power went from "not quite enough" to "yep, this will do just fine". I don't have the ability to measure the pressure, friction, or specific stopping power but I can say the leverage increase is significant with this uniquely designed caliper. You need to first measure the distance from your center mounting bolt to the pad, then choose which size caliper to order. My project has 26" cruiser tires with the measurement of 95mm from bolt to pad so I ordered the long one and had to adjust the set screw all the way down to get the two pads to present themselves properly to the rim at their lowest position. I replaced the set screw with one longer so it would have more threads for holding and stability. This is an e-bike conversion and now it has proper braking power.

False advertisement. This does NOT fit a 26inch beach cruiser. You been warned.Edit: It does fit but you have to mount it the opposite way through the hole on the back. I don’t know if that is safe though. I found this out while tinkering with it out of frustration.

I bought both front and back calipers for a 26" mountain bike, they were bigger than i thought. While i was able to use the front one fine since you almost never turn hard enough for it to get in the way, the back one would stay high enough to hit your thigh when getting on or off of the bike and even while pedaling. i posted it up next to the stock caliper and a tape measure in hopes that it helps others.

As mentioned in an earlier review, this caliper is beefy, On my e-bike I'm carrying close to 400+ pounds between four 12-volt batteries, the motor, and my own hefty self. No deformation was noted under load and these calipers quietly stops the bike better than anything I've had before. So far, so good.OK, I've had the calipers for a couple weeks now and I'm still impressed. Although I can't lock up the wheels due to my substantial bulk, these calipers have done a better job of stopping me than any other I've had on the bike.

Does not fit 26” wheel. Even after I adjusted the pads to the lowest setting this was for a beach cruiser. My beach cruiser was from sixthreeo.

They said in the description works on 26" beach cruiser but they don't seem to work on my 26" beach cruiser or any other 26" bike I have tried them on

Edit: the bolt that holds the brake to the frame, yeah it broke first time out for a real ride yesterday.Fits pretty well on the fender mount for a huffy nel lusso with just enough clearance for the pads to reach.

Used this on the rear of a 26" Schwinn beach cruiser. Due to the curve of the seat stays you have to mount it on the underside of the seat stays, but it has the reach to get to the rims.. These are also much better brakes than the generic bmx calipers out there.
