bareMinerals Up Close & Beautiful Kit - Light by Bare Escentuals

This is an awesome package for the price. The size of the foundation & mineral veil are the same as a normal eyeshadow, 0.57g or 0.02 oz.This is much smaller than a regular size foundation but I do think this kit is a great buy and I knew I was getting a smaller container.The only size available on their site is 6g for $28.50I also think this is a great deal because you get a small container of the bisque concealer, which works quite well for me. I have slight roscea on my cheeks, nose and chin. This covers it all quite well. The normal price on their website is $19 for this.I like the primer too, and forgot how great it makes my skin feel. Soft and even, just really nice. $24 for this on their site.The brushes are small but they would make a great travel set if you wanted to stick them in your purse or backpack. I used them to apply the makeup since my older brushes need serious cleaning. I do not think they sell these brushes by themselves on their site.I couldn't find this exact kit on their website so I don't know if this one was from a different year and is discontinued now. I really wanted to get the foundation and concealer which is why I went with this one. I love my purchase!!!All in all, I gave this a 5 star review since its exactly what I thought I was getting, came within 3 days, and is an all around GREAT buy. For this price you could not get two of any of these things. I might always buy this package from here on out!!

I used Bare Minerals religiously in my 20s. Time has passed and I am approaching 40. After my favorite cosmetic had a formula change that broke my skin out, I decided to try it again. But I was worried that the powder would sink into the fine lines around my eyes, and my skin at almost 40 is much drier than in my 20s. Happy to say Bare Minerals did not disappoint - but - you must use the Prime Time skin primer. I tried without and with. When I did not use it, the powder sank into my creases and looked cake-like. When I used it, the make-up floating beautifully on top of my skin.A word about the sizes - this is a trial kit. That means it is for trying out to see if you want to commit. It is a great deal considering you get two small brushes, plus the prime time, foundation, and mineral veil. You could not buy one of those for the price of this kit. The sizes are small (no bigger than a half dollar), but it's for you to try out. I thought it was just right. You'll get nearly a month's worth of use out of this, definitely long enough to decide if you want to invest. So go ahead and try it!!And as for how it works, Bare Minerals makes skin beautiful. And when I put this on, I felt like I had the perfect complexion of my 20s. It makes magic out of your skin.

This is my second time ordering this product from Amazon. I tried ordering it directly through Bare Minerals, but you have to sign up for a monthly club fee. If I get it from Amazon, it's cheaper and no monthly fee. I love Bare Minerals make-up. It's all natural and easy to use. The samples are smaller in the 30 day kit, but that's ok for me. You don't have to use a lot to get the look you want. So it can last longer than 30 days if you ration it well. It really does make you look flawless and you don't have to re-apply anything. It lasts all day and night and doesn't clog pores, doesn't get into the little lines or creases on your face and doesn't cause break outs. When I run out, I just re-order the same kit and still cheaper than ordering directly from Bare Minerals. Love it and will continue to use.

I don't like to wear a lot of make-up. I wanted something that would be gentle on my face on days out with kids and husband. This has a very natural feel to it. Though it is not perfect coverage, I don't look like I'm wearing a lot of make-up and still have nice skin. If I want more coverage without loading too much crap on my face, I put an all natural tinted moisturizer on and then the bare mineral foundation over, and does the trick for a nice day wear. I love the mineral veil - it brings everything together..

Was delivered quickly! I've wanted to try bareminerals for a very long time but didnt want to fork up the dough for something I wasnt sure about. I decided to give it a try when a lot of reviews I read were saying it made your skin better.. I have adult acne, it's very embarrassing and my makeup was not helping so in desperation i bought this starter kit. I got too light of a shade but I am SOLD it covers everything! My pimples dont show i mean the bumps are there but the color of my face is all even the dark under eye area is gone and my skin is actually healing! I LOVE the primer, its my favorite item in this kit, i have been using it as a moisturizer because it just seems to make my face look and feel better.

Not a fan of the primer, it's a little waxy and feels like it's sealing off my pores no matter how little I use. I do appreciate the the powders on my skin / the concealer provides excellent coverage - BUT, I cannot use the products under my eyes. If I use too little, it doesn't cover well / if I use just enough - it's perfect for coverage, but the powder absorbs any oils and moisture that I need to keep the fine lines hidden around my eyes. I find the powder brings out the lines more. Another con is that it takes me much longer to open & apply all the different powders as it does for me to use liquid foundation with moisturizer included & a quick brush of blush. I have normal / slightly sensitive skin.

This is decent make-up, but I was hoping for better coverage. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I had a really difficult time covering up blemishes with this product. Additionally, I don't like the way the product is packaged. In order to get enough make-up to actually provide coverage, I had to put the lid on and then turn it upside down. After doing this, there was often too much powder, and no matter what I do, I find I have a mess on my counter. I think that this would be a very nice product for someone without blemishes, though. It is very lightweight and you really don't feel like you're wearing make-up at all.
