🚀 Elevate Your Raspberry Pi Experience!
The UCTRONICS PoE HAT for Raspberry Pi 4 is a mini power over Ethernet expansion board that provides a maximum output power of 2.5A at 5V, ensuring your projects run smoothly. With intelligent temperature control via a brushless cooling fan, it keeps your device cool under load. Its compact design saves space, making it ideal for various Raspberry Pi cases. Note that a compliant network switch or power sourcing equipment is required for PoE functionality.

Buen adaptador, pero muy caliente
Es un buen adaptador PoE, administra la alimentación adecuada usando un switch PoE 802.3af, pero su único defecto es que calienta mucho, eleva al menos unos 10° C la temperatura de la Raspberry.

Easy installation and works well so far with few modification to existing case
This is day 1 so if this changes I will update the review but So far this POE hat has worked great with my Unifi Dream Router. Easy installation even though I had to make a few modifications to my existing case (move the fan outside the enclosure and clip a few layers to be able to fit the added board.).

Had to remove the fans because they were too noisy
I bought 4 of these because I was building a Pi cluster using a UCTRONICS Desktop Cluster Enclosure for Raspberry Pi. I chose this product for two reasons even though there were cheaper alternatives.1) Same manufacturers as the case, so I assumed there would be no issues with clearance whenever I pulled out the tray containing the Pi.2) It was promoted to have a "silent cooling fan"Unfortunately, the fans are far from silent... After about 2 days of use the fans began to rattle off and on.I put up with it for about a month, but the rattling only got worse and worse. So I have now take the fans off of all 4 PoE boards.100% would not recommend if silence is important to you...I was hoping the fans would be located right over the SoC so I can put a decent sized heatsink to offset the lack of a fan... Unfortunately that was not the case... Part of the SoC is located below the PoE board, so I could not place a heat since in the middle of the SoC.Also I should have noticed this prior to purchasing, but this product secures it self to the Pi using ALL of the GPIO pins, so if you plan on connecting anything to a GPIO, it will not be compatible with this board.

Great hat... while it works. *Update in post*
Had this PoE HAT on a Pi 4 for about 9 months before it failed completely. For those nine months it ran without issue, but then just suddenly died, leaving behind a faint burnt smell. Thankfully it did not harm the Pi itself when it departed this world, but I have other PoE hats that have been in use for longer without issue. This being the case, I would suggest looking elsewhere and at different brands before buying one of these.Update:I did some poking around on the dead PoE HAT and discovered the exact failure point, which turned out to be the PoE Controller itself (Manufacturer Number: SI3402-B-GM). I attached a picture of the controller to my review, along with the scorch mark.Update #2:While I'm still disappointed that this HAT burned out in the first place, I came back to this review to add a star due to how great UCTRONICS' customer service has been in light of this incident. They reached out to me about this issue very quickly to offer me a replacement HAT even though it's been many months since my original purchase, and their customer support seemed genuinely interested in how their unit failed. I'm hopeful that my experience with the first unit was a fluke, but only time will tell.

It works, but it's not good for always-on raspberry pi's
It works and assembly is straightforward. I used this to run a pihole DNS server (so it's always on). It failed after 6 months. I can't recommend this gadget. Save yourself the headache and just use the power supply if your machine should always be on.
