Fascinating and accessible
I had bought this book as present for a friend who a fan of LFC but now need to order another as I'll be keeping this one for myself! I went to have a quick scan through to see what it was all about and ended up getting completely engrossed. This is a really fascinating insight into Nutrition written by someone who is clearly an expert in their field. Even though the reference points in the book are elite level athletes, all of it still 100% relevant those of us with some interest into what we're putting into our bodies or just wanting to make a few easy changes to improve out diet. The book achieves that balance of being very informative while remaining accessible to people like me with no background in the subject matter. Some decent recipes included at the end too.Happy to recommend this to anyone.

One of my best Amazon purchases!
Absolutely love this book. Bought it for my teenage son who is a huge Liverpool fan and a football player! Who better to influence him in what he eats other than his favourite player?! Found myself constantly reading the book too and picked up lots of good info. Would probably recommend for children 9 or 10 upwards as it is quite technical regarding food science etc. So glad we bought this, it really is excellent!

Perfect gift
Bought this book for my stepdaughter who is a huge LFC fan and has her own little family. She loves it and has already tried lots of delicious recipes. You don't have to be a Liverpool fan to enjoy this book.

WOW.... poor nutrition advice ,,,, im in shock at the nutrition advice in this book! ... YNWA
I am a massive red all my life and training to be a nutrition therapistI loved the idea of this book and have always wondered how the reds eat and have wondered if it ever had a part to play in how they playedI am so disappointed with this book and gutted that amongst the recipes is one for bread making out it is a healthy food as well as that they have a whole chapter on wheat and I have NO IDEA why . with the headline 'cereal winners' .... are they trying to say cereal and wheat is a healthy food! .. wheat is one of the most unhealthy substances to mankind and cereal, bread, pasta, pastry are massive contributors to the diabetes problemI want to know why there is a chapter on wheat in an elite athlete nutrition bookwhy is there a bread recipebread is a processed, false negative food which is unhealthy and can not be called healthy by any serious nutritionist with any clue about real healthother negative false nutrition in his book isapple crumble, pancakes, lasagne,I am actually angry with this book and my club for being a part of it and spreading negative nutrition under the lies that this is how the players eat..I will be writing to the club demanding to know why this crap is in the bookThere is a big agenda with fooddo not buy this book if you care about healthits full of pictures and loads of stories about what the players eat and will be a good read for a young fan but if you have any interest in nutrition and want it thinking that its going to give you any insite in how to be healthier DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK.... the information in it is anti nutrition and unhealthyYNWA

A very interesting book
I bought this book cause I support Liverpool FC and everything about the club interests me. But the book on its own is very informative and I enjoyed it. Its not a cookbook but has some recipes as well.

Only 19 recipes
The book is amazing and covers many topics regarding nutrition for athletes and some very interesting interviews with a few players. Unfortunately there aren’t many recipes included. Would have loved a scouse or players favorites to be included.
