Q: Can you take the booster cushion out so the dog will sit lower in the seat?

Yes you can take out the cardboard that elevates the seat.

Q: Is the support for the raised portion solid or the folding covered board? Can you show a picture of the inside support?

It's a piece of plywood. I added another dog bed bed for addl cushion.

Q: Will this fit 50 lb. dog?

Hard to say, but I believe so. I have a 33 pound Corgi and she fits with room to spare (and she is longer than many dog breeds). You may need to use a different seatbelt- the one that is built in is thin, short, and hard to clip. We switched it out for a dog seatbelt that clips into the fastener in the car.

Q: Will this fit 2 pugs? or should i buy a second? will two of these car seats fit in the back seat of a car?

I definitely think it will fit 2 pugs. I think it would fir 2 in the back seat. It’s really nice. It worked for us while our girl was a puppy. But she’s a doodle and too large now.
