Side Show

I've loved this score for 20 years. I have both this original cast and the 2014 revival. Most people think that Krieger's music is better than novice Russell's lyrics and I agree but they do make a great team. I purchased this as a gift to share this wonderful score with someone else.

Everybody wants to purchase a CD without having problems. I did just that, and I feel damn happy about it! This is a fun musical; the musical numbers are crazy and frenetic. If you ever performed in it, you will understand how important having 'The Devil You Know' for beebopping pleasure is.

Love it. Just saw the revival show before it closed, which was a shame, so I wanted to hear the original cast album. Closing was a shame; my seeing it was not - just so we're all clear, despite my faulty sentence construction...

I love the music for this show. My six year old walks around singing, "Come look at the Freaks." I do feel like Violet and Daisy aren't as strong vocally as others I've heard, but they're still good.

This is a amazing musical, and should have had a longer presentation on Broadway. I was in a regional premiere of the show with a cast of disabled actors - quite moving.

Side Show is a controversial play appeared at a time when people who viewed it where most often unaware that humans can be born different. Unfortunatly, as someone who has worked in that particular domain (years ago) the Side Show is considered as something of the past. I have authored 4 books about the "prodigies" and was met with great indifference. It is as if today,s present generation is in denial that they have ever existed. Side Show-the book adds a greater dimention to the songs and music. We owe it tou ourslfs to give it a second look-It deals with humanity! - Giovanni Iuliani

SIDE SHOW の哀しい物語(ミュージカルの内容)に対してあまりにドラマチックな曲たち。そのギャップに違和感を感じつつも、はまっていくのでした。トニー賞はどれもノミネートだけで結局1つも受賞してないのだけど、私的には楽曲賞は獲れるはずの内容だと思います。

Ich schließe mich der Meinung meines Vorredners an... Ein völlig zu unrecht unerfolgreiches Stück. Zum Glück wird es demnächst nochmal ins Rennen geschickt. Die CD enthält nur einen Teil der Musik, da das Musical quasi vollständig durchkomponiert ist und den Rahmen einer Einzel-CD somit sprengen würde. Es wurden aber fast nur die (gesungenen) Dialoge gestrichen und die eigentlichen Songs behalten.Kaufempfehlung!
