Skilfully Passing the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE)

After reading this book, it is impossible not to appreciate the author’s effort to help candidates get qualified in the painless way possible. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who desires/needs helpful guidance on how the SQE1 and SQE2 are structured and on the nuances of each assessment. Of course, you would still need to study each subject to be tested; because this book is not about the subjects' specific content, but about getting the knowledge and assessment strategies that would put you at ease on your path to the qualification. The book has great insight on how to approach your preparation for the tests. It's well written and the author's ideas and advice are easy to follow.

This is more of a what-to-expect strategy guide rather than practical working guide with example questions. This provides nuggets of wisdom like ‘decide which kind of SQE prep course is right for you.’ There are however, very good tips and grammatical tips here and there. The book also tells you how to identify if you are nervous and how to cope, as well as tips for solicitors with limited working eng skills. Very overpriced for its substance, but if you aren’t from a common law country, this would probably be more beneficial for you.

I’d highly recommend this book! There are so many marks to pick up in the skills element of the SQE exams and this book highlights exactly how to do that. I would recommend this to anyone undertaking the SQE exams.

The book is very well-written, includes useful guidance about the structure of the exams. It also includes good tips for time management and planning and how to organise your studies. I find this particularly important considering that I am working full time. I definitely recommend this book.
