From an informed person who cares.
Ok so I was a dental hygienist so I may know a thing or two about oral health and stuff like that.. I'm not in the field anymore because I'm a zen organic vegan now and I couldn't deal with the fluoride and the amalgam fillings and all the other shady sh dentists do... (I still see a dentist, I'm not against them, but I'm happy I know what I know and my dentist respects my decisions as informed and knows better than to offer me fluoride or sliver fillings so he's cool in my book and I'll just leave it at that.)So, even though the dental field wasn't for me, I do like to take something good from every experience in life, as I'm extremely passionate about everything I give my energy to, so I certainly did absorb a crap-ton of info that I'm grateful for and I do enjoy helping people so I like to share useful knowledge when the mood strikes me and one of the things I took away from my time in the dental field was a love of the sonicare toothbrush. Not because I like the Phillips corporation or made friends with the sales reps. Not even close. I'm not really a fan of most corporations and Phillips is no exception (sorry). As much as it pains me to say it, I've never received a free sonicare. I did used to get a crazy discount on them but if you're in the industry you can get anything cheap. I wasn't a sales-rep ho to get free products. I don't care about free things, I'm a minimalist. Most sales reps avoided me because I wouldn't allow their products in my office because I think it's tacky and classless for medical professionals to hawk products, so the reps didn't like me much. What can I tell you, I wont be sold a bill of goods and I never wanted to sell things to my patients because how would anyone ever be able to trust my professional advice if I'm sponsored by the highest bidder? So I was the difficult one asking all the questions the sales reps don't want to answer because most products and medications are not up to my standards as I believe in natural healing and using food as medicine etc. - Lets just say the Listerine reps who like to bring free stuff to dental offices hated me because I refused to put their toxic waste in my office. Same went for every other electric toothbrush company. (Although I did keep one of the cheap crest spin brushes on hand to show the cheaper alternative to a sonicare because not everyone can afford a sonicare and a cheap electric toothbrush is still better than a manual. (The Phillips rep didn't appreciate that, but I don't care. Again, I wasn't interested in selling my patients "things" I just wanted to inform them of their options).Yes, I know, longest toothbrush review in history, but I say things to qualify myself and simultaneously recuse the dental industry so I'm not confused as an operative here to speak favorably about the dental industry or Phillips. I can assure you I am neither and I'm only here because I was compelled to write my own review after reading a few other cringe-worthy reviews misinforming people. With all that said - ***here is why I do believe in sonicare*** - it's because I have researched and understand the technology behind it. It literally is one of the only products I ever recommended to my patients. The technology, in short, (and please google it for yourself) is specific in that:1) the sonic waves that are emitted from the brush actually disrupt the cell wall of the bacteria on your teeth (the plaque that you are removing when you brush, the whole reason you are supposed to be using a toothbrush) so the waves kill bacteria. That's huge.2) these waves penetrate a millimeter beyond the bristles. So you're cleaning not just where the bristles physically touch but 1mm beyond that. These two simple facts are everything. Why do we want to disrupt the cell wall of bacteria? Because it kills it. And the 1mm may not seem like much but when you think about how small bacteria is then you'll realize that 1mm is a lot of space for bacteria to hide. Now, if you spend a copious amount of time brushing meticulously and then floss, maybe you don't need a sonicare. I would probably disagree, but that's based on my experience. I used to clean 40 sets of teeth each week. Multiply that over 6 months and that's about how many different patients I would see. So I saw a lot of teeth and had a pretty good idea about the general toothbrushing skills of humans. It's not good people. You/we do not do a great job of removing all the microscopic bacteria from our teeth and gums. But don't feel bad, it's a tough thing to do if we're being real. You don't have a microscope and chances are (based on statistics) that you don't floss. So you aren't even getting into your gum pockets (never heard of your gum pockets? Get a new dental hygienist if you don't know the measurements of your gum pockets because this is how we measure gum disease and if they aren't measuring they aren't doing their job. Ask them. Or google it)Anyway, in summary, you as a human can not move as fast as an electric toothbrush so you can not remove as much bacteria/plaque with a manual toothbrush as you can with an electric. For that reason I will always prefer/recommended an electric over a manual. That being said, if you are going to use an electric toothbrush, why not use the one that also has sonic waves that will kill the bacteria up to 1mm beyond where the bristles will reach. You are killing more bacteria. You want to kill bacteria because that is what creates the inflammatory response (bleeding gums). Why should you care if your gums bleed? Well because if your gums are bleeding you have active inflammation, and if chronic inflammation is allowed to persist it eventually moves further into your gum pockets and finally makes the bone go away (the bone that holds your teeth in). I read one review that stated "yes your gums bleed when you switch to a sonicare but that's normal because it's doing a better job" - I cringe 😒 While I appreciate this advice that is, no doubt, meant with the best intentions it's just one of the reasons you shouldn't take medical advice from people who aren't qualified to give it because... no, boo boo, it's NOT 'normal' for your gums to bleed. It may be 'common', but it's not normal. And they were right, if you have inflamed gums and brush well, they will bleed. But I have to stress the point that it is NOT the sonicare making you bleed, its inflammation. I just need to clarify that bleeding gums indicates inflammation. It's not necessarily something to be alarmed about IF it goes away. The GOOD NEWS: gums are resilient so if you have a bit of bleeding (not as an everyday occurrence) then it means you currently have more bacteria (plaque) than your body can fight/handle. Sometimes the body can handle more (when you're in peak health with a great immune system) and other times the body has other stuff going on so it can't fight against the bacteria as well (ever notice your gums only bleed when you are stressed, or under the weather, on your period or pregnant for the ladies, or have an immune deficiency) these are all things that can be found with bleeding gums not because it is related necessarily, but because the body can only handle so many things at a time so when your body is busy healing other parts of itself or say... creating another life, it has less power to fight bacteria in your gums so the inflammatory response is initiated and your gums bleed. The blood cells are actually there to fight the bacteria/plaque. So... if you help your body by removing more bacteria/plaque then your gums won't bleed. So brush more. A sonicare will help. If your gums continue to bleed then you have gum disease and you should see a good dental hygienist (who should measure your gum pockets).Thats all for my public service announcement on the sonicare 😏 Get one and see if your dental hygienist doesn't notice at your next cleaning. I bet he or she will.

Happy with replacement
Happy to find black brush replacements to go with my black barrel and base! Very pleased with the bristle firmness. Can't say if I'll be happy with longevity until I need to replace this one.

The Best Ever!
I think these are the best brushes Sonicare has yet developed. I find them a bit large to easily get in curved parts of my jaw, but they clean much better than any previous model. I have to laugh at the 3 month recommendation -- I get no more than 30 days. I know I don't push too hard as my Sonicare toothbrush signals me to let up. I really don't mind the short life since they clean so well. I have gone through 4 brush heads and have not had any bristles fall out. Hopefully others got a bad batch; I suspect the new mounting method in these brushes is tricky.

Awesome brush heads, but they sent wrong item.
Great quality brush heads, but they sent the wrong item. Instead of two of the same brush heads, they sent one of the brushes in the item description and the other was the whitening brush head. I decided to just keep them, because I didn't want to go through mailing them back, but either way, they work well.

(in a good way) I was a little skeptical regarding the price ...
These things are crazy!! (in a good way) I was a little skeptical regarding the price initially, but after using them a couple of times, I think they would be still a good value at twice the price.. I had been using some of the third party compatible brushes and I definitely will not switch back to those even though they were quite affordable. Using these is a totally different experience, not as harsh on the gums, but superior in cleaning.

Fits teeth well
I waited about a week to review this product. Fits front of teeth very closely. Teeth feel cleaner than they did with the head that came with toothbrush. I imagine the rubber prevents pushing too hard.

All three types are great and I love the fact I have a choice
I know there are other brands rather than Sonicare that work just as well as replacement heads, I prefer the heads made for the Philips Sonicare. Besides, the black kit I bought didn't have the Adaptive Clean Brushes so I wanted to see the difference between these and the other ones that came with my kit. All three types are great and I love the fact I have a choice.

Bulky, less sonic vibration
I hv had many sonicare toothbrushes over the years and I hv never not liked everything about them until this brush head. It’s okay but not great, as I have come to expect with sonicare products. I’m used to getting a very invigorating completely clean feel after using my diamondclean toothbrush and it’s compatible brush head. This brush head doesn’t perform as well, the bristles don’t vibrate as well either. They are imbedded in a gel like base and it’s my belief that this base is obsorbing some of the toothbrushes vibration and therefore causing it to lose some of its sonic power. Plus it’s heavy, wide and bulky.Going back to the original diamondclean brush head!!
