Yes tent is seam sealed very good tent then again not been in very heavy rain but I think it will be fine, hope this helps

Q: Is this the three season tent ?

I think it is haven't used it yet it says it is .

Q: Has anyone used this in heavy rain? I’m concerned about the low HH rating.

I have used this tent a couple of times in moderate Scottish rain and had no worries about letting in water. I love this tent but say it is more a 2-3 season. Hope this helps

Q: Presumably this can be strung up to strong branches instead of supported by poles?

There are tags on the outside where the poles would go to attach to a tree or ridge line.
