His to Keep: Alien Overlords, Book 3

My Thoughts on His to Keep
I was pretty excited about this one going in. Especially after the events of the previous book. And it certainly didn’t disappoint. Nova and N’Thn may have been separated by distance and a significant amount of time, and they both had a lot they were forced to endure during their time apart, but I was just so happy to see them finally find happiness together after all was said and done. And the journey to get there was emotional and very uniquely binding. I also really loved that while the story was mainly about Nova and N’Thn there were also these other points of view whether they be entire chapters or little segments of chapters that were thrown in and that gives you more insight to what’s going on behind the scenes. It gave me a look at some enemies both known and unknown to the main characters and also gave a really good set up for future stories. The narrator once again did an amazing job. She is one of the few that I find I can listen to and even if there are both male and female points of view, I never mind that she is doing the male parts as well because she has such an excellent male voice.

good other world series but
Humans crash landed on another planet and starving made a contract with dying race to allow women to be “hosts” to their children. The descriptions can be a bit hard to take and I don’t always understand how sometimes the humans are into it under the assumption of its “fate”. The FMC & MMC especially here is redeemed well with the plot as you see all sides work against them. Unique take but some parts are to me a bit harsh

N'Thn and Nova overcome in order love and live
I loved how N'Thn and Nova's circumstances forced them together and to help each other with their trauma. How they were able to cultivate a trusting bond in order to help one another and ultimately overcome their circumstances. Really enjoyed the story of this couple and cried a couple of times and cheered with their successes. This is my 2nd favorite in this 5 book series and tie with T'Kan and Zinnia for main character couples and their dynamic. Great job to the trio Taylor Vaughn creating spicy romance with great subplots.

Taylor Vaughn did it.....AGAIN!!!
This book hit the nail on the for me. Nova, a woman who endures an abusive situation has been mentally and physically damaged. She meets her unlikely match another man who is TEE-TOTALLY crazy on a whole new level. BUT then there is this thing called LOVE....I think my favorite part of the story was the exchange between T'Kan and the main male character N'THN. N'THN is an Alien war veteran/former POW whose mind was deeply troubled.... EXCEPT when it came to his woman. His cousin was trying to present an option that the woman he had a child with could work for him as a servant and blah, blah, blah as apart of a Planetary agreement opposed to the other option of mating her, marrying her raising their baby together.... An option not presented to him in his crazed stated....since T'Kan felt it was the "safest" route for the PTSD ridden troubled alien with "Mind ROT". N'THN proves he is all kinds of NOT THAT CRAZY when he counters and I paraphrase..."Is that what you do or did with your woman and child?"...I like that the author roots for the underdogs. There is so much to this story. The characters have both endured abuse on various levels. A mutual healing is called for...It is not a tale for the faint at ❤️. May trigger some with issues with abuse and violence. The whole series is very well written. All the characters have their own unique identities. If you can give Alien Alpha males buckle up!

Excited to keep reading the series!
I will say this one was not necessarily my cup of tea…too much capture and forced breeding for my taste (usually wouldn’t bother me but it must be almost shark week lol). The writing still isn’t anything to write home about but I’m going to keep reading because I’m so curious about where the whole universe story line is going!

3/5
Liked N’Thn more than T’Kan but it was really bizarre how he just watched that girl get her head blown off and then was shocked the crazy guy had treated the women in a similar manner. Spice was good and the world building is so good but why is the book so almost dark and then when it comes time for the ending it turns almost silly, it was somewhat similar in the last book. And Nova can fight huge aliens off after like a week of training. I think there is a few writers and it does read like that. The misleading the reader is a snooze at this point. Her internal monologue wouldn’t really read how shocked she was that the girls turned against her if it was all part of the plan. Also trying to make you think the MMC is a terrible person but then only partially explaining it away. If you want to go dark just do that and include trigger warnings, instead of acting like these guys are great and it’s just cultural differences/misunderstandings that don’t really make logical sense.

The Good..The Bad & ....
This series has them all.😁 There are so many awful Xalthurians and Kaidorians who in general are worse than the former. And yes, though I know evil exists aplenty in my own real world it pains me to see it revealed in the pages of these fictional ones. Because I am positive we humans are the worst creatures in the universe. But hey we have to have that age old battle between good and evil so I must accept this..🤗My heart broke for N'Thn...he went thru way too much...thanks to his disgusting father.Thru out this series I have found very few typos. I still don't like the amount of sexual content but since it is so tied into these species' reproductive issues one must accept this and just move on. Lots of societal & political upheaval kept me engaged. Can't help but fall for N'Thn, Nova & Glee. I won't spoil it but the ending sets up an inevitable desire to jump to the next installment which I'm going into right after posting this....Well Done! 😉👏

the plot thickens
I can’t imagine how terrible the original breeding ceremony was for the human women. I can’t get over how terrible that was for them and how terrible their existence is. I just have major worries for sure I am glad the ceremony is over because this madness was getting me way too mad

6 stars!
This is the best book in the trilogy!!! I am now sold on alien romance. I used to look down my nose at this trope and I’m disappointed in myself because I feel like I have to catch-up with all the titles I’ve passed because of my literary snobbery. This novel was amazing and I’d recommend anyone to read. There are a lot of dark themes in this story, so please beware and read the triggers before you begin. The ending was the perfect set-up for another book to come and I look forward to consuming more from the greats Taylor and Vaughn.

Alien sci-fi
Excellent storyline, both human and Alien races need each other the Aliens need human women to continue their race and the human need the Aliens for food and supplies. The breeding ceremony are very dark and reflect the power struggle humans had no leverage in. In spite of many bad humans and select aliens there is a happy ending

Series favourite
Absolutely loved this one! Plenty of emotions to go with the action and a great backstory for both lead characters. I am intrigued to see what book 4 will bring.

Very heavy themes
This book and the whole series should come with a very strong warning, as this is no soft romance. There is a lot of rape and abuse. Even the "good" guys are pretty awful. It is not badly written but I am sure it is not a cup of tea for many. I almost stopped reading it many times and in the end the happy ending wasn't worth having to suffer through women being abused by humans and aliens. Honestly, not for the soft hearted looking for a bit of romance.
