Major Focus issues (UPDATE: fixed with latest firmware)
(!!Updates Below)Lens build and weight seems fine but it has massive focus issues. On my D5100, it keeps on doing the focus seek even in lit environment. Most of the time it fails to focus at all. And when it does focus, the pictures come out blurry. I checked again with my Tamron 24-70 2.8 and nikon 35mm 1.8, my camera seems fine. I see some people made youtube video regarding this issue for the 50mm. Is this a firmware issue??I am going to check on another camera before sending it back. 1st Update: returend the first one and got another of the same lens from amazon. Now, I tried it on my new Nikon D850, it still sucks, misfocuses over 50% of the time!! (Even after AF Tune). And no success focusing with live view at all !!! Also heavy vignetting (which is fine for me).Still waiting on Yongnuo to create a firmware update to fix these.Final Update: !!!!!!!!!!!I wrote to the CEO and the technical team to update the firmware. Although there was some back and forth in communication and they took their sweet time, they have delivered at last. The latest firmware greatly improves AF, even in live view mode. I am really happy with the lens now. considering its low price, i think it deserves a 5 star in price performance. as i said earlier, i don't care about vignetting (so did not test it either).

Buena compra 👍

Sonst nimmt man halt ne höhere Blende.

it’s a nice prime, however
I got this lens a week ago, it’s a nice prime, however, focus is very slow and noisy, photos are soft when used wide open. I haven’t missed focus yet so I’m pretty excited about that. Although I could have gotten an 85mm f/1.8 for faster focus and sharper images, I wanted the extra focal length. And since I’m a portrait photographer speed isn’t all that important to me.All in all, it’s an “ok” lens. You get what you pay for. Would I recommend? Yes, for beginner photographers on a budget.
