I gave this a 4 instead of 5 because I absolutely had to cure it, but because I read reviews ahead of time, I’d already planned for it. If they would say in the description that it has to be cured I’d give it a 5 because it’s exactly what I was looking for. Just a bit of false advertising that could be frustrating if you were counting on it to be ready. It’s kinda small, but not too small.

I purchased this item as a gift. I decided to buy this one above similar ones advertised because in the description the seller claimed it was 'Fire wood cured' and ready to use. Even the pictures in the ad show that the inside is cured, but as you can see from how the item got to me, it is not! To someone that will dare to cure it to use it, this might not be a problem, but since I read so many people around the web saying how you can damage it if you don't know how to cure it, I don't dare to. I am giving it (2) stars because the craftsmanship itself is not bad. Nonetheless, very disappointed customer!

Spoon and bombilla look and are cheap, still they work fine. Mate gourd is excellent, easy to clean, cured after a few sessions and keeps gorgeous mate smell, all the way through the gourd. Yes, try it, you’ll get the proper feeling for mate drinking.

Hola:Era lo que estaba buscando. En Argentina es fácil porque tienes los mates delante y los puedes elegir. En Amazon, la foto es muy fiel a la realidad. Pienso que tiene las características ideales: buen tamaño -mediano, grande-, sencillo, elegante, estable. Lo único que yo añadiría al kit es una bombilla, cuyo "coco" (el filtro) se pueda desarmar para poder limpiarlo con más facilidad.

As a First impression, the gourd comes inside a small box bubble wrapped along with the straw and scoop. I took out one star because it still needs curing . Aside from that it’s authentic, very nice and has no leaks.
