Pachi Tanglang Chuan: Eight Ultimate Praying Mantis

I have bought this book thinking that it would only cover Baji (Pachi) Quan and Mantis, but it turned out to be five styles in one book! Not only that, but it also gives you guidelines on how to become a better martial artist as well as improve your health and.....Carma!?..that is if you believe in one, but nonetheless it is in there to give one another esoteric perspective on universe.If you don't care about the philosophical aspects, then you will find all things physical inside the book. The described are formidable styles, especially Pakua and Mantis, of which the latter is simply vicious to say the least.I also love the sayings (Maxims) before each chapter begins.This by far exceeded all my expectations. There are a lot of books out there on the subject but many fall short of their intended objective. This one is an authentic manual and a teacher in itself. Any martial artist from any style would benefit from this book. Get it!

I am lucky to learn some of these styles and from one of GM Su's students. This is unapologetic Martial Art history. Dense with information and only enhanced by GM Su's depth of knowledge. I hope more of GM books get translated.

This is one of the best written books on these Martial Arts styles. Su Yu Chang put together in one person, one teaching and 1 master knowledge, the 5 main Praying Mantis Styles along Ba Ji , Pa Gua and Pi Gua.It is a MUST read for all Martial Arts enthusiast even if these are not his / her main field / style of interest.As an over 30 years Martial Arts Practitioner, I totally recommend this book

Connaissant depuis de longue date Master Su Yu Chang, je ne suis pas déçu par son livre. La présentation, la justesse des mots, sa façon de raconter le Kung Fu, et de l'expliquer nous permet l'accès à certains aspects souvent occultés.Les livres vraiment intéressants sur ce sujet si vaste ne sont pas légion. Alors lorsqu'on en trouve un il faut le signaler sans hésiter.
