My mother taught us to pray to our Guardian Angels. Nancy's book Whenever a Child is Born delightfully shares with us the blessings and beauty of Angels. The message and art work are delightful. "Guardian Angels love with a heavenly love" is a special message to share with our children.

When I read this book, it brought me back to so many childhood memories of my mother praying with me. Mom believed in angels her whole life. Nancy has captured this theme so incredibly well and has given parents the opportunity to instill this belief in young children. Precious heartwarming story!

This little book is so refreshing. It comes at a time when keeping our children safe is harder than ever. I love the message (and believe it too). I also love the illustrations. Every expectant mom should read this book.

I have children of my own, and watching their milestones play out has been a high point in my life.For parents of young readers, some children should be able to decipher individual words such as animal names and their sounds. Even if a child hasn’t learned to read yet, you can always point to a particular animal and ask what sound it makes.While the story was cute, Chris Diket (the illustrator) must get credit for creating all those endearing images. His style reminded me of Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes’ drawings.Good job, both of you!

Beautiful, Faith-Filled, Story for Families. I think this is the perfect book for Christian families--whether welcoming a new baby into a family with young children or introducing young children to the concept of angels and guardians. My in-laws shared similarly themed thoughts and sentiments when each of our daughters were born--making this book bring extra smiles as we read.Simple Illustrations and Text Share Deeper Messages. For those of us believing in angels and gifts from God--the lovely illustrations and simple text make this an easy-to-read, easy to understand book for little ones to read alone. As always, though, I love finding children's books that help families and caregivers introduce a subject in a way that encourages conversations and further learning. This book is the perfect way for parents to introduce a discussion of faith, angels, and God's protection with young children.Would I Recommend Whenever a Child is Born by Nancy Diedrich? I would recommend this book to religious families who wish to share the idea of guardian angels to reassure children of their safe place in the world. I would likely gift this to families with children who are expecting a new baby as well. I chose to read this book after receiving a free copy. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.Whenever a Child Is Born is a beautifully illustrated book that is told in rhymes. It’s about our guardian angels being with us from the time we are born and staying with us throughout our lives. It’s comforting to know that our children are never truly alone because they will always have their guardian angel.I especially liked the last few pages which say:“You give your child complete love.Your angel gives complete love too.Guardian angels love with a heavenly love.Their gift to your baby and you.All children are gifts of love.”Although this is a children’s picture book, it would be a perfect gift for new parents to cherish until their child is old enough to read it or be read to.
