Jayne's story just keeps getting better and better! The secrets this poor girl has uncovered are fascinating. I'm enjoying this journey at Whispering Pines!

This is the third - and last - book for me in this series. And I feel disappointed about that.I have given more than enough time for the main character to grow on me, to no avail. I just don't like her! She is bossy, judgy, immature, entitled, and a know-it-all. She continues to browbeat suspects and innocent people alike, in her quest to find out what's happened to her grandmother and everyone else. She blabs everyone's secrets but expects everyone else to keep quiet. She jumps to conclusions and loses her temper at every little thing. She treats her love interest like garbage.The worst thing about these books? I like all the other characters, except the cartoonish villains (they are written poorly). I also like the fact that gender fluid and LGBTQIA+ folks are written fairly, as well as the witches and psychics. The town sounds lovely, with great little shops - someplace I'd like to visit if it existed in real life.But I'm sorry, I just can't continue to spend $5 per download to put up with this insufferable character!Maybe if the author writes another series that doesn't include Jayne, I'd be interested. But until then, it's a big ol' "nope" from me, and I can't recommend this series.

Like the way in this book the story finally brought some closure on some areas. Too keep me interested on a series I need to know answers. Great if new questions come up and hang out there for a bit but like to see some stuff come to an end to bring in other twist.

Another day another murder, wait , that was 40 years ago. Twisted family troubles needs a chart but all worms out. Love is in the air and things work out. Close to a five star for drama but four stars for the hard work of straightening out the family mess.

This book was series to me by a friend! I am so happy I read it! I love the cast of characters! Meet former detective Jayne O'Shea. She has come to Whispering Pines to close out her beloved Grandmother's House. Now she and her 'friend' Tripp are turning the house into a Bed and Breakfast and Jayne is now the Sheriff! Jayne discovers her Grandmother is murdered and goes looking for the answers. There are many twists and secrets to weed through. The characters are well developed, full of secrets as is the town and its past. And I have to say, I just love Meeka! Since I am late to the series, I sat down and read everyone of them back to back and enjoyed them all!

Loved it, loved it, loved it. I am getting extremely vested in the characters in this series, I can't wait to see what is going to happen next. I am extremely excited to start book #4.

I'm really into these Whispering Pines books. I've just read 2 & 3 one after the other. Now i can't wait to start number 4. I love books that you can't wait to get back to and for me these fall into that category. I love them . Thank you Shawn McGuire

A plot that I didn't see coming, poor Jayne to end up with a brother and a killer at that, well he did instigate the death, can't wait to read the next in the series

Shawn McGuire has created a wonderful series that I'm sure you will enjoy. I love the story that is woven around Jayne, who is the main character and her budding relationship with Tripp. The series takes Jayne , an ex police detective who is looking for a new start, on a journey to a strange little town that was started by her Grandma. As the story unfolds you get drawn into the mystery, intrigue and secrets that she knew nothing about when she agreed to close down her Grandma's estate and get it ready for sale. You'll meet an interesting cast of quirky characters, some are naughty and some are nice, that help move the story along from book to book. Each book leaves you with a tease that encourages you to want to dive right into the next to see what happens next.

I love this series! Shawn continues to weave the quiet darkness of Whispering Pines through the sub-plots while revealing only what we need to know as our MC, Jayne solves the deaths that are occurring with more frequency in and around Whispering Pines. The characters in this series vary from mysterious to delightful. The relationships are continuously changing and growing as is the town itself. I love how the pines almost have a personality and how characters from the past influence the present.
