You need one of these!
Don't try and remove an x-clamp without this tool. The clamp can easily break, and the ONLY place you can get a new one is eBay (and they're $15 and up).The clamps seem deceptively easy to take off but they're not. Check YouTube for videos on how exactly to use this tool. You lift the end of the tool UP not down, and you don't slide the tool very far onto the peg.When used correctly the clamp ends just pop right off.

Only tool for the job
I'm on my third Xbox 360 mod and/or repair and have finally figured out how to properly use this tool. It is perfect for removing the cross brace with zero chance of damage to the circuit board. Cheap enough that everyone who wants to clean and change thermal paste on their Xbox should have one.
