Hello, This is not the Deluxe Version. We are currently out of stock of the Deluxe version waiting for the next shipment to arrive. It should be available again in the next 3-4 weeks.

Q: What is the difference between this 'Deluxe' version and the original/normal version?

The deluxe version comes with plastic fish tokens opposed to the cardboard tokens from the original, and it also includes several promo cards not included in the original. Finally it includes custom draw string bags for scoring. The rest of the components are the same.

Q: Is this an expansion to the original evolution game or a completely separate game?

It's a separate game, but on the same principal. My teenage grandkids (in STEM and honors) have been fascinated by it and spending as much time on Oceans as on their smart fones during Covid.
