If you've purchased a HG101 book before, you're getting more of the same. Good quality pictures and writing, as objective as one can be and good breadth. Only thing I'd change in the future is maybe make the pictures more specific to the text. An example would be in game X, the author calls out the boss of the second stage for its uniqueness/notoriety/etc, then just make sure one of the pics shows this boss. Otherwise, solid all around.

Fermo restando che il primo volume è assolutamente da avere, in questo secondo volume vengono trattati dei classicissimi del genere shmup che non possono mancare alla vostra collezione.Si parla di nomi altisonati quali la serie Xevious della Namco, i lavori di Psikyo con Gunbird e Strikers 1945 in testa e poi si analizzano i capolavori della Toaplan, e che cosa ve lo dico a fare? Qui si fa davvero la storia ed è impossibile non appassionarsi alla lettura quando si toccano le meccaniche di gioco di alcuni di questi assoluti masterpiece!Essere dei neofiti o maestri del genere non fa differenza. Conoscere la storia è fondamentale, e qui ci sono pagine e pagine di storia non solo del genere shmup ma del mondo videoludico, partendo dagli albori del medium.Un lavoro incredibile che dà lustro allo shoot 'em up tradizionale.

The quality of the content is, as always, top notch. There's lots of interesting details and facts on each game, and a lot of games are covered. My only complaint is that visually the pages are very dense, the text is closely packed and the images are often on the small size (mostly postage stamp size). This is the same as other HG101 books, I'd love to see ones with a more spacious layout.
