Healthy Recipes
Ordered this book after my wife and I decided to try the Mediterranean Diet. Most vegan and vegetarian diets are very difficult to follow especially after 10 years of home cooking with the occasional take out. The Med diet is much easier to follow and I would say better for you as it does incorporate some animal protein with a lot of whole foods. I have to say this book is jammed packed with a lot of recipes and has been an enormous help in planning meals that are healthy, and importantly, tasty. The challenge with trying to do this on your own is making healthy food taste great enough for you to crave it. This book helps a lot in that department, as it will introduce you to spices and herbs that make a huge difference. Not all the recipes will work for everyone, actually one of the first we tried was downright awful.Funny thing is we thought we might not be able to do this if they were all like our first attempt. But you need to give more dishes a try, and good thing we did because so far the last 10 dishes have been awesome. The soups and pastas are particularly tasty. Most are ones, I am happy to say, are weekly staples in our home, and dinner and lunches are fresh again! Leftovers are also a pleasure, I look forward to them the next day! So I would say this book does a great job and I recommend you try as many as possible to find your favs. It takes getting used to buying the new types of ingredients, but eventually you will have a fully stocked spice rack and fridge with the usual healthy ingredients

AMAZING
These recipes are exactly the kind of comfort food I'm looking for right now: tasty and nutritious, spicy, and not too time-consuming. For the past few months, I've been trapped in a cooking rut, but flipping through this gorgeous, inspiring book was just what I needed to get back in the kitchen. But the true strength of this book is how it explains how to deviate from certain rules in order to experiment and use what you already have. I've already tried a few recipes, and each one has been better than the previous. I appreciate that the ingredients can be used for anything from a hurried mid-week lunch to leisurely weekend dinner. I've always enjoyed Mediterranean cuisine, so when I saw this book in a magazine, I bought it right away. I've made so many recipes from this book in the last two weeks, and every single one has come out wonderfully and exactly as the picture indicates. The XXL Mediterranean Diet Cookbook consists of plant products. Healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables, potatoes, whole-grain breads, legumes, cereals and grains are some of the ingredients in this diet. You can also eat a small and controlled amount of yoghurt, cheese, chicken and eggs in this diet. In the Mediterranean diet, you should eat fish and seafood at least twice a week. Based on my experience, this book will help you to eliminate butter and margarine from unhealthy fats in your diet and replace them with olives, olive oil, cereals, sunflower seeds and avocados. You would not be disappointed if you purchase this cookbook. It's changed the way I think of what a weeknight dinner should be: just because everything is gourmet doesn't mean it needs to take an eternity to prepare or use expensive ingredients. All of the recipes in this cookbook seem to be complicated, but they are actually very simple to prepare. Thanks to the author, I was able to use the meal plan for 2 weeks. Following the meal plan was easy for me and my family could enjoy the meals with me at the same time. This diet is the most complete one and you will not lose any special proteins, fats or carbs at the end of the day! I highly recommend this book to busy moms and people who want to make a healthy transaction in their lives.

Big disappointment
Of the 10 breakfasts, 10 lunches and 10 dinners I might try 3 of the recipes. If you follow the 14 day plan you will be using your oven every day. Maybe some people don't mind that but I certainly would not do that and definitely not when making breakfast. One of the desserts is the same as one in the South Beach diet first seen years ago. The only difference is that it is sweetened with honey and sugar rather than artificial sweetener. Delivery was prompt. I ordered it yesterday, received it today and tomorrow it will be going to the charity shop.
