Junkers Ju 86 (Schiffer Military History)

Purchased book and as it's my area of interest I enjoyed it what I found strange was that it was on site at two vastly different prices so do some research

A bit disappointing , as the photo quality is not very good, the text not very clear , and the layout a bit confusing . Also no attempt has been made to tabulate the construction numbers to clarify the many mysteries of its construction and use.As very few publications exist, as far as I know on the Ju-86, this adds a little bit to the story , but it is far from complete.Still waiting the definitive book on the Ju-86

Author Manfred Griehl bürgt für Qualität im Bereich Recherche und Fotos, doch dieser Band über die Ju 86 gibt erstaunlich wenig her...: -keine Details über die innovative Kampfstandkonstruktion der sog. ,,Badewanne ', kaum Motordetails über die Höhenversionen, keine Hinweise über schwedische Torpedobomber oder wo sind die südafrikan. Behelfsbomber oder,,LC"

Great reference book for historians and model kit builders alike

先日 ドルニエDo17 (世界の傑作機№181) が発売され、更に日本でもハインケルHe111のモノグラフは幾つかあるものの、これらの機体と競作関係にあったユンカースJu86に関してはAmazonの検索でヒットしたのが本書でした。　他のSchffer社のドイツ機モノグラフと同様50頁に満たない本書の文章は開発の経緯、ドイツ空軍内での運用歴、海外への輸出状況と運用歴（爆撃機型、旅客機型を含め）、ドイツ（ルフトハンザ）での旅客機の運用状況、高高度型のP、R型の運用歴を含んでも7～8頁程度で半日もあれば読める内容です。　その他の頁は大判のモノクロ写真で占められています。軍用型、民間型を問わず一通りの型の写真は収録されていますが、高高度型の写真は鮮明さが不足したものが多いには残念です。ユンカース社の話ではBMWⅥを搭載していたHe111とは性能面で拮抗していたものの、He111がJumo211にエンジンを換装したことによって風向きが変わったと感じている証言は興味深いです。　ディーゼルエンジンのJumo205（4頁に写真があります。1つの気筒にピストンが上下対向する形であることが想像される縦長の形状です）は軍用機用としては急激な出力変化に対応できない等の不具合が指摘されていますが、ルフトハンザは経済性の点でこのエンジンの方を評価していたことはやはり、軍用機と民間機では相反する要求が出てしまい軍用機/民間機を同じ機体で開発することの難しさを感じました。　写真は一部を除き機体の外観写真で、本書の性格は写真集の性格が強いと思います。尚Amazonには無いですがAir Enthusiastの20巻（1982年12月から1983年3月までカバー）には民間機と爆撃機の両方の透視図やもう少し詳しい実戦歴もあるので情報の補完にはお勧めです。 ドルニエDo17 (世界の傑作機№181)

Lots of photos and a clear understanding of this aircraft service as a recon aircraft. After reading about this aircraft the reader gets to see the manufactoring and deployment of the aircraft in german service. Well worth the money to buy.

Le junker 86 ou comment faire du neuf avec du vieux... Ce livre décrit correctement l'histoire de cette avion, qui n'a pas eu l'aura du heinkel 111, plus performant. Au début du conflit, grâce au travail de junker sur la pressurisation, il retrouve une nouvelle jeunesse en tant qu'avion de haute altitude , très apprécié par la luftwaffe. Je conseille ce livre pour ceux qui veulent en savoir plus sur cette avion peu connu.
